This September, Bangkok will once again host one of Asia’s most prestigious culinary events as the World Gourmet Festival returns to the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. From 22–28 September 2025, the festival marks its 25th anniversary, promising its most ambitious programme yet — a week-long celebration of gastronomy, artistry, and global collaboration.
A Landmark Year
Launched in 2000, the World Gourmet Festival has become a cornerstone of Bangkok’s dining scene, welcoming more than 150 Michelin-starred chefs over the past two decades. For its Silver Jubilee edition, the festival brings together an extraordinary lineup: 16 Michelin-starred restaurants boasting a total of 22 stars, four Green Star chefs pioneering sustainable dining, and seven restaurants ranked in The World’s 50 Best and Asia’s 50 Best. Adding further prestige, several participating chefs hold global titles such as World’s Best Female Chef, Asia’s Best Female Chef, and Asia’s Best Pastry Chef.
This year’s programme has been curated by Kristian Brask Thomsen, the culinary storyteller behind Dining Impossible and strategist to many of the world’s leading restaurants. His vision ensures a narrative-driven festival that blends legacy names, rising talents, and creative trailblazers into a powerful week of culinary experiences.
An International Stage in Bangkok
For one week, the Thai capital becomes a global culinary hub. Guests will dine alongside some of the world’s most celebrated chefs, including Eric Vildgaard (Jordnær, Copenhagen), Vaughan Mabee (Amisfield, New Zealand), Dave Pynt (Burnt Ends, Singapore), Paco Méndez (COME, Barcelona), Grégoire Berger (Ossiano, Dubai), and Thailand’s own Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn (Le Du and Nusara, Bangkok). Other highlights include visionary pastry chef Janice Wong, Deepanker “DK” Khosla (Haoma, Bangkok), and the acclaimed Mathias & Thomas Sühring (Sühring, Bangkok).
The festival will also feature a series of once-in-a-lifetime collaborations. Among the most anticipated is a rare six-hands dinner with Eric Vildgaard joining forces with Mathias and Thomas Sühring, combining five Michelin stars in one kitchen. Another standout pairing sees Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn collaborating with Vaughan Mabee, one of New Zealand’s most exciting culinary talents.
A Trio of Signature Experiences
Each evening offers a choice of three formats:
-
Gourmet Discovery – unique collaborations between global icons, never to be repeated.
-
Gourmet Encounters – cross-cultural exchanges pairing international chefs with Thai masters.
-
Gourmet Icons – solo tasting menus showcasing a chef’s complete vision.
Anantara Siam’s restaurants provide the stage, with Shintaro hosting Japanese masters, Madison spotlighting bold collaborations, Biscotti reimagining Italian fine dining, Spice Market welcoming a star-studded Thai lineup, and Guilty offering a Peruvian-inspired showcase. The Lobby Lounge becomes a playground for Janice Wong’s imaginative desserts, blurring the line between art and gastronomy.
Beyond the Table
Daytime programming enhances the festival with panel discussions, wine and cocktail tastings, chef masterclasses, and an afternoon tea hosted by Janice Wong. The week opens with a glamorous gala in the hotel’s ballroom and closes with a celebratory brunch in Parichart Court, raising a toast to the festival’s chefs and stories.
Accessible Luxury
For the first time, ticket prices span a wide range, from THB 1,800 to THB 18,500, ensuring accessibility for both first-time guests and seasoned gourmands. With early bird tickets already on sale and limited seating available, demand is expected to be high.
As Bangkok cements its reputation as a global culinary capital, the 25th Annual World Gourmet Festival stands as a milestone — a dazzling celebration of food, culture, and the artistry of chefs who continue to shape the future of fine dining.
