Look Out for the New “Trusted Thailand” Stamp

When choosing where to stay, eat, or explore in Thailand, travellers often face a flood of options. From bustling Bangkok hotels to seaside restaurants and remote adventure tours, it can be challenging to know which businesses truly deliver safe and reliable service. To address this, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a new certification: the Trusted Thailand Stamp, a nationwide initiative designed to highlight operators that meet the country’s highest standards of safety and service.

A Nationwide Commitment to Traveller Confidence

The initiative was officially introduced in Bangkok on 27 August 2025 by Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports Jakkaphon Tangsutthitham and TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, in collaboration with government agencies and key tourism partners.

Speaking at the launch, Jakkaphon emphasised that safety remains at the core of Thailand’s tourism policy. With China ranking as a key source market, the government is determined to reassure travellers that Thailand offers secure and trustworthy experiences.

“This launch reflects an invitation to all tourism operators, partnered agencies and stakeholders to work together in advancing Thailand’s tourism towards safe, secure and sustainable growth,” he said.

Governor Thapanee added that the Trusted Thailand Stamp will not just be symbolic. Instead, it will serve as a practical mechanism to restore traveller confidence while ensuring Thai tourism keeps pace with international safety benchmarks.

Businesses that qualify for the Trusted Thailand Stamp will be evaluated across four core areas:

  1. Site Safety – including CCTV, emergency preparedness, and adherence to health and security standards.

  2. Secure Financial Transactions – ensuring customer data protection and trustworthy booking systems.

  3. Foreign Language Support & Visitor Care – with multilingual staff and proper customer service training.

  4. Safe Mobility & Accessibility – making transport, transfers, and facilities secure and inclusive for all visitors.

This broad approach guarantees that the stamp is not only about physical security but also about building trust at every stage of the travel experience — from making a booking to enjoying a day trip.

Rollout and Certification Process

The programme will be rolled out in stages. A mini-site will go live in September 2025, offering:

  • A self-assessment platform for businesses aiming to apply for the stamp.

  • A public directory of certified operators, making it easy for travellers to choose trusted hotels, restaurants, attractions, and service providers.

The nationwide certification will begin in October 2025, accompanied by workshops, safety forums, and promotional campaigns across short-haul and long-haul markets.

Why This Matters for Travellers

For international visitors, the Trusted Thailand Stamp offers peace of mind. In a destination as diverse and vibrant as Thailand, travellers will be able to identify operators that meet government-backed standards of safety, security, and customer care.

This will be particularly relevant for families, first-time travellers to Asia, and those booking adventure tourism activities such as trekking, diving, or eco-tours — where safety standards vary greatly. The stamp also aligns with the growing demand for sustainable and responsible tourism, ensuring Thailand’s rapid growth does not come at the expense of traveller security.

A Step Toward Sustainable Tourism Growth

Beyond safety, the Trusted Thailand Stamp represents Thailand’s effort to balance its booming tourism sector with sustainability and quality assurance. With over 30 million international visitors in 2024 and projections to surpass that in 2025, ensuring high-quality standards is essential to maintaining Thailand’s reputation as one of the world’s top travel destinations.

The initiative signals a forward-looking approach: positioning Thailand not only as a country rich in natural beauty and cultural treasures but also as a place where safety and trust are guaranteed.
