2018 Humanitarian actions in Laos: Take part in the construction of a Computer School in a Hmong village by The Children of Laos Association (Enfants du Laos).
THEIR AIMS
The Children of Laos Association aims to contribute to the development of the youth education in remote areas of Laos, thus offering children the opportunity to get a better future. Today, many children in remote villages do not have the chance to have correct access to education. They help their parents with fields work, and for those who wish to remain at school, certain subjects such as IT remain unaffordable, despite the efforts of the country.
For a long term and in various ways (donations of equipment, infrastructure, teaching, sponsorships …), this association has the will to give these children the means to get sufficient knowledge and skills to get a job in main cities of the country. Each project is carried out in consultation with the inhabitants, the village chief and with the agreement of local authorities. They make sure that local people are involved in the whole process so that their actions are useful and collaborative.
THEIR MISSIONS

Their missions are open to all, based on the principle of “Don-Actor”: the volunteer contributes/Donates to the financing of the project and is also the Actor of the construction of the computer school during his mission.
This project is based on dual action: a financial donation and physical action on site. The volunteer discovers a different culture and different ways of life, and he meets the local populations who will benefit from his solidarity action.

Duration: 7 days / 6 nights
Support: English speaking guide + 1 member of Children of Laos + a team of Laotian workers
Arrival and departure: Luang Prabang
Visit to The Children of Laos area
Accommodation: Homestay, the group will be divided among the family houses of the village.
Meals and transportation: Full board meals + private minivan transportation from Luang Prabang included. A scooter will be provided for the group.
