Exclusive to One&Only Desaru Coast, Bonfire Legends offers the opportunity to connect guests with visionaries and game-changers in various fields, bringing together thought-leaders, tastemakers, professionals, athletes,  epicureans, and more, in an evening of inspiring perspectives by the private beachfront bonfire beneath the twinkling night sky.

Jacqui Hocking herself is an accomplished leader in sustainability, spearheading projects such as carbon offsets in the Amazon Rainforest and solar fields in Maasai villages in Tanzania. Selected by the United Nations as one of the ‘50 Amazing Women of Singapore’, Jacqui is also a Forbes 30-Under-30 listee and a three-time TEDx speaker, and has since worked with multinationals, governments, impact investors, and financial institutions all over the world to catalyse positive change and solve global challenges.

Jacqui Hocking Speaking at TED

Jacqui Hocking comments, “I am thrilled to speak at One&Only Desaru Coast’s Bonfire Legends and exchange spirited conversations about our current sustainability landscape, and some ideas on how we can cultivate greater impact collectively. Sailing around the world as a documentary filmmaker with a UN Global Climate Expedition gave me the visibility that we already have the solutions to almost every global goal, so I have made it my life’s purpose to implement them in even better ways. I hope to inspire more people to realise the importance of leveraging their work as a force for good because change comes from within, and businesses can be a stepping stone to achieving Sustainable Development Goals.”

Jerome Pichon, General Manager of One&Only Desaru Coast comments, “We are delighted to present our next edition of Bonfire Legends, focused on sustainability which has been a subject of fervent discussion for many industries as we move on from the pandemic.  We are honoured to host a changemaker like Jacqui at One&Only Desaru Coast, where delivering incredible experiences are part of our brand ethos. Guests can certainly look forward to being part of more distinctive events in the year ahead.”
