Chiang Mai Voyage of Light 2026

Chiang Mai Voyage of Light 2026

Every traveler eventually finds a moment where the boundaries between earth, water, and sky dissolve. For those who choose Chiang Mai in late November 2026, that moment will arrive as thousands of lanterns drift upward into the night, their soft glow reflecting on the water below, carrying with them the quiet hopes of everyone who gathered to watch.

The Chiang Mai Voyage of Light is a carefully curated celebration of two timeless Lanna rituals—the graceful Loy Krathong water offering and the magical Sky Lantern Release—brought together into one extraordinary evening at Tippaya Villa in Doi Saket.

Why This Evening Matters

This isn’t simply a festival to attend. It’s a moment to release, to reflect, and to begin again.

The organizers behind the Voyage of Light have built the evening around a clear vision: to preserve and celebrate the beauty of Lanna culture through a meaningful and contemporary experience. They aim to create a connection between people, art, local traditions, and nature—and to contribute sustainably to the local community, ensuring the spirit of the festival continues for generations.

When the Krathongs drift gently upon the water and the lanterns rise gracefully into the sky, something shifts. In that quiet, sacred moment, everyone releases the burdens within their hearts together.

Three Moments That Shape the Night

The evening unfolds through three signature experiences, each designed to deepen the connection between guest, culture, and place.

The VOL Village is where it all begins. A living expression of Lanna heritage, the village brings craftsmanship, local flavours, and stories of the community to life. Everything here emerges from the earth beneath your feet—culture lived, shared, and beautifully preserved.

The Loy Krathong Performance & Lanna Orchestra follows, as Krathongs are gently set upon the water and the soft glow of candlelight drifts into the night. Music and performance flow seamlessly between past and present, guiding emotions with quiet elegance—like the river itself, receiving, carrying, and softly releasing all that we let go.

The Golden Nawa Landmark Stage is the heart of the evening. As thousands of lanterns rise together, accompanied by fireworks, the sky transforms into a canvas of hope. In that breathtaking moment, all wishes are released together.

Choosing Your Moment of Light

The event offers three tiers of participation, designed to suit different preferences and budgets.

The Standard package (THB 5,900 per person) offers a refined but accessible way to experience Loy Krathong, including standard seating at the lantern release zone, two sky lanterns, one Krathong, a Chiang Mai street food experience, one cultural workshop, and round-trip air-conditioned coach transfer.

The VIP package (THB 9,900 per person) elevates the experience with premium seating near the main stage, two sky lanterns, a premium Krathong set, Kad Mua Northern Market dining, two-hour free-flow beer, a dedicated photo point with digital files, two cultural workshops, a VIP souvenir set, and priority entry.

The Elite Experience (THB 14,900 per person) is the most exclusive option, offering seating closest to the main stage, access to the CMVOL Elite Lounge, a luxury handcrafted Krathong, premium Thai buffet dinner with welcome drink, free-flow beer and wine, access to all festival zones, dedicated staff service, four cultural workshops, fast-track entry, and optional private parking.

A Golf Experience Unlike Any Other

For travelers who wish to extend their journey, the CMVOL Golf Experience 2026 offers a premium blend of championship golf and cultural immersion. This package includes three nights at Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai, daily breakfast and golf course lunches, three championship rounds with caddie and cart, and a curated dining experience—all culminating in the Signature Night celebration on 25 November.

It’s a journey of light, culture, and connection—where the fairway meets the festival, and every swing leads somewhere deeper.
