For your long-awaited vacation to Phuket, most people want to choose the perfect, centrally located resort hotel. The hotel has to offer spacious, ocean-facing rooms with balconies and be in an island location that offers relatively easy access to all the best dining, shopping, attractions, and nightlife that Phuket is famous for. The West Coast of Phuket is also known as the “Gold Coast”. This coast faces the Andaman Sea and provides a string of coves with towns running from north to south. The small towns include Laguna Beach, Kamala Beach, Patong Beach, Karon Beach, and Kata Beach. Patong Beach is the largest town on the coast and the heart of Phuket’s famous nightlife scene. However, many people prefer to stay in a quieter location, away from the noise, crowds, and traffic, and Karon Beach has become one of the favorite spots for seasoned Phuket vacationers. Karon Beach is the Ideal Vacation Location Booking a sea view room in Karon Beach is the ideal vacation location. The town is just a short drive over the hill from vibrant Patong Beach, yet far enough away to be undisturbed by Patong’s noise and traffic. Karon Beach is a sweeping stretch of pristine sand where you and a loved one can enjoy a leisurely stroll while taking in the beauty of a tropical sunset in peaceful privacy. The old-world charm and unique Sino-Portuguese architecture of Phuket Town is also just over the hill to the east. Spend a day or two wandering among the streets, markets and temples of the largest town on the island. Between Patong Beach, Phuket Town, and Karon Beach, many people find their vacation days are absolutely full from sunup to sundown. Stay at Centara Karon Resort Phuket Centara Karon Beach Resort Phuket offers some of the best and most spacious sea-view rooms in Karon Beach. Our resort is the perfect place to book a vacation for just the two of you or for the whole family.
Whether you plan on going on vacation, away for work, or just need a night away from home, finding the perfect accommodation is very important. The accommodation you stay in will have a massive impact on your trip. Choosing the wrong accommodation can make you want nothing more than to go home. There are many different types of accommodation you can choose from, from hotels to hostels and even people’s spare rooms. This post will explore this topic in more detail and tell you how you can find the perfect accommodation for your next trip. Come Up with a Budget The first thing you need to think about is your budget. How much can you afford to spend on accommodation for the night? To get an idea of how much you will need to spend, view hotels and apartments for the rent in the area you plan on travelling to. You can view the prices of accommodation close to Brisbane Convention Centre, as well as in other parts of the city, with ease. Getting an idea of how much accommodation costs will make setting a budget much easier. If you are able to, try to save money. You can save money on accommodation by booking your rooms early, using coupons, and making use of public transport on your trip instead of renting a car. Saving money in other areas of your trip allows you to spend more on your accommodation. Think About Location The location of your accommodation is very important. You need to find accommodation in the nicest part of the town or city you are traveling to, so you don’t have to worry about crime. Staying in accommodation in a nice area gives you the ability to walk around after dark. If you choose accommodation in a slum, this might not be an option. The best way to find out what an area is like is to conduct a basic internet search and see what people are saying about it. You should be able to find references to your chosen district on holiday messaging boards and forums. Alternatively, you may be able to find crime statistics for the area you are traveling to for free online. Prioritize Your Comfort Comfort should come before anything else. Whether you are going away for business or pleasure, you need to feel relaxed when you get back to your room at the end of the day. An uncomfortable room isn’t going to bring about feelings of relaxation–in fact, it’s more likely to stress you out. Prioritizing your own personal comfort is very important. A good way to get an idea of how comfortable a room is, is to read reviews. A hotel, apartment, or hostel’s reviews will cover its rooms in detail and help you to quickly determine whether or not it is the right one for you. Research Different Neighborhoods If there is a particular city you want to visit, research different neighborhoods before you visit. Researching different neighborhoods will help you to find one with affordable, safe accommodation. You can find out about a city’s neighborhoods by using online messaging boards, as recommended above. You always need to check crime statistics for neighborhoods that you cannot find much information on. This is so that you do not unintentionally end up staying somewhere that is dangerous for tourists to walk around in. A neighborhood’s crime statistics will give you a better understanding of how safe it is. Read Reviews Reviews are very important. A hotel, hostel, or apartment’s reviews can give you clear insight into the experience of staying there, and make it much easier for you to decide whether you want to or not. Reviews are publicly available on Google Review and Trustpilot. You should read reviews across a range of different platforms, so you get a full understanding of what the accommodation you want to stay in is like. Don’t make the mistake of only reading reviews or testimonials hosted on the accommodation provider’s website, because such reviews are usually biased. Visit In Person or Virtually If you are able to, visit your chosen accommodation in person before you visit. Visiting in person will make it much easier for you to identify problems with it and to come to a decision relative to whether you want to stay there or not. If you are unable to visit in person, consider taking a virtual tour. If the accommodation you plan on staying in is privately hosted, you should have no trouble finding virtual tours. If you want to stay in a hotel, however, you might have to ask for one, as they do not tend to be publicly available. Check Internet Availability No matter what you are going away for, the chances are that you do need an internet connection. Most of us rely on the internet very heavily nowadays. Even being disconnected from it for a short period of time can cause some pretty serious issues, whether that’s with work or our loved ones. Before you book accommodation, check what the internet connection is like there first. Checking the internet connection before you visit will prevent you from accidentally agreeing to stay somewhere that doesn’t have good Wi-Fi. You should be able to ask the host or manager about the internet online. Research Local Transportation Local public transportation is important, too. The last thing you want is to stay in a built-up urban area and have to drive everywhere. It is much easier to get buses, taxis, trains, and trams. You can find out what a city’s public transport network is like with relative ease online. Bear in mind that if the district you are visiting is on the outskirts of the city, the public transport network might not be as good as it is in downtown areas. If you have any doubts or concerns about a city’s public transport, get in touch with its public transport authority and ask directly. Finding the perfect accommodation can be difficult...

Come Up with a Budget

The first thing you need to think about is your budget.

Think About Location

The location of your accommodation is very important.

Prioritize Your Comfort

Comfort should come before anything else.

Research Different Neighborhoods

If there is a particular city you want to visit, research different neighborhoods before you visit.

Read Reviews

Reviews are very important.

Visit In Person or Virtually

If you are able to, visit your chosen accommodation in person before you visit.

Check Internet Availability

No matter what you are going away for, the chances are that you do need an internet connection.

Research Local Transportation

Local public transportation is important, too.

Finding the perfect accommodation can be difficult if you have never visited the city you are travelling to before. You can use the guidance given here to quickly determine whether accommodation is suitable or not. Make sure you read your chosen venue’s reviews before you stay there.

Amankora reveals the heart of Bhutan with ever rarer and more awe-inspiring cultural experiences for 2023. Well-suited to those embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, Amankora continues to tell the story of the Kingdom of Bhutan through unique, culturally enriching experiences across its five intimate lodges. New for 2023, several experiences reveal the very best of the Kingdom’s rugged Himalayan landscapes, discovering the once forgotten ramparts of its central and western valleys. Built in 1638 on a cliff at the confluence of two rivers, the defense fortress of Wangdue Dzong has finally been restored. A key experience until 2012, when an accidental flame sustained significant damage, the magnificent Wangdue Dzong is ready to welcome visitors once again to its grounds after a decade of rebuilding and careful restoration. Another piece of history restored; the Trans Bhutan Trail provides Amankora with further opportunity to discover the pristine nature that surrounds. Dating back to the 16th century, the 402-kilometre-long trading and pilgrimage route was abandoned in the 1960s following the construction of Bhutan’s first major roads. After 60 years, the trail has been reestablished, allowing the Bhutanese to walk in the steps of their ancestors, and those staying with Amankora to follow the ancient path with curated daily hikes and multi-day experiences, paired with stays in all the five lodges. Thimphu – Secrets of ancient incense and the arts Situated in the forested Thimphu Valley, home to Bhutan’s capital city, Amankora Thimphu is a 16-suite lodge tucked into the pine-scented woods of the Motithang area. Ideally placed for exploring Thimphu’s museums, traditional shops and numerous cultural sites, it also serves as a quiet retreat, completely removed from the city’s activities. New this year, learn more about the ancient art of incense from artisans at Nado Poi. Using a wide selection of rare, foraged or homegrown herbs, spices and ingredients from across the Himalayas, Nado Poi’s skilled local craftspeople create blends of sacred smoke, highly sought after by monastic bodies and temples all over the world. Using a 350-year-old recipe passed down through generations, Nado Poi also makes exclusive incense sticks and powder blends for the Royal Family of Bhutan. Available to those visiting Thimphu, the exclusive half-day Secrets of Ancient Incense experience takes place at the brand’s local workshop, and includes a selection of raw materials to create, roll and cut the incense, guided by a Nado Poi artisan. Another renowned artist local to Thimphu, Gyempo Wangchuk, hails from the Zurig Chusum Institute, Bhutan‘s most important art school focusing on 13 traditional arts and crafts. Specialising in painting, Gyempo’s work ranges from temples and sacred scrolls to present-day contemporary art. Exclusively for the new season, private painting sessions with Gyempo Wangchuk can be arranged either at Thimphu lodge or in his studio, where guests can learn traditional Bhutanese painting with a contemporary twist. Paro – Private dining in nature Sheltered within a blue-pine forest of glistening conifers, 24-suite Amankora Paro lies beneath the ruins of the 17th-century Drukyel Dzong (fortress-monastery), a 30-minute drive from Bhutan’s international airport. As with each Amankora lodge, it offers elegant dining and living rooms with panoramic views, an intimate spa, and expansive outdoor areas for relaxing in the sun or beneath the stars. Overlooking snow-capped Jhomolhari, each suite features its own bukhari, a wood-burning stove. Nestled in the foothills, where pilgrims begin their journeys in the shadows of the iconic Tiger’s Nest, Amankora’s new log cabin provides a breathtaking prelude or a cosy finale for hikes up to the legendary monastery. Accessible via a hidden path just moments from the main hiking trail, the quaint cabin is surrounded by a verdant pine forest which opens onto tranquil lawns with sweeping vistas of the cliffside monastery structures. Leave Paro lodge before the break of dawn and experience a sunrise breakfast as the Himalayan Sun slowly illuminates The Tiger’s Nest or opt for a restorative lunch with a refreshing drink and relaxing 30-minute foot massage to soothe tired limbs, followed by a sumptuous lunch in full view of the Tiger’s Nest. For a truly special culinary experience, up to 30 guests can enjoy a Forest & Fortress Lunch or Dinner during their stay at Amankora Paro. Set amidst a pine forest and overlooking the historic Drukgyel Dzong fortress, tables are set in a lush clearing where guests can choose to dine beneath the stars or under a traditional Bhutanese ceremonial tent, lit with stringed lights and flickering lanterns, accompanied by local music. A traditional dance performance or musical troupe can be arranged with Amankora signature cocktails and canapés whilst enjoying dinner prepared by the in-house chef. Adding to its already extensive experience guide, in the year ahead Paro lodge will offer an insight into one the world’s rarest teas. Originating from the Camelia Sinensis trees planted by the former King of Bhutan, Thunder Dragon Tea is gifted to the villagers of Samcholing where the tea trees are grown by the community and gently nurtured by mists from the verdant gorge, Himalayan spring water and the valley’s organic, fertile soil. Guests of both Paro and Thimphu lodge are invited to discover the nuances of this unique green brew with Thunder Dragon High Tea, where its delicately aromatic flavour is paired with sweet and savoury treats created by the culinary team. With every sip, guests are transported to the Kingdom’s mountains, springs and skies. Punakha – Unveiling gastronomic traditions Amankora Punakha lies east of the dramatic Dochu La Pass and just north of the resplendent Punakha Dzong that dominates the confluence of the Mo Chhu and Po Chhu rivers. Surrounded by rice paddies and fruit plantations, the lodge occupies a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse with twelve guest suites set in an orange orchard near the 30-metre infinity swimming pool. Discovering culture through cuisine is central to the Amankora experience. At Punakha the lodge provides torma making classes, offering an insight into one of the most sacred Buddhist celebration cakes. Made with butter and barley flour, torma cakes are used to adorn altars...

Taking place in the private altar room of the monastery, the ceremony begins with a declaration of date of birth before the Lama performs a Buddhist name calculation using a unique method of Buddhist astrology. Following the name presentation, explanation and blessing, guests are invited to light butter lamps for wishes of wellbeing in the weeks and months that follow.

We all have our preferred place to stay in when traveling. As a standard traveler, I have tried several places including guesthouses, studio apartment, budget hotels, 3-star hotels, 5-star hotels and private houses too. The one place on my dream list, the place I longed to stay in, at least once, has always been the best room in a hotel: the VIP room. This dream came true when I was asked to cover the MyBalloon Fiesta in Kuala Lumpur this month. It was there that Sri Damansara Hotel provided Asian Itinerary team with the VIP Suite. I must mention that this was possible thanks to PR on duty at the MyBalloon Fiesta, Miss Ezrin Balqis, who introduced us to Sri Damansara Hotel General Manager, Mr. Aaron Lai. What a great honor it was to stay at their best room: the moment I entered it, I felt like a king, only different was, there was no courtiers. It turned out the ‘room’ was in fact an apartment of over 100mts, comprising two bedrooms and three (yes three) bathrooms, and a living room most of us would dream of in our own house. There is a TV in each bedroom and in the living room, massive bedrooms size, wooden wardrobe, desks, you name it. The sofa was a hug leather combination that fit me perfectly, you can be sure. The luxury of the ambience, needless to say, assured my good sleep at night. Sri Damansara Hotel is a business run by a family from Sabah, east Malaysian Borneo, who has owned the premises since 2011. The hotel consists of 157 rooms categorized as Super Deluxe, Executive Deluxe, Deluxe King, Deluxe Twin and VIP Suite, with a price range going from 108 up to 668 Malaysian Ringgit (RM) per night. This stunning hotel is equipped with modern structures and at night sports so many flickering lights that makes it appear as if out of a 1960’s Hong Kong movie. Sri Damansara Hotel is well-managed by young, affable, warming and handsome Mr. Aaron, who has studied hotel management in Switzerland and has always worked in the hospitality sector. At 26, his career has been fast and promising so far. Sri Damansara Hotel is located in the best area for those who want to visit Batu Caves, Genting Highland and Cameron Highland, as it is the perfect starting point to those amazing destinations. It is located relatively near the city center, which is perfect for those planning to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur lifestyle, and since it is near an industrial area, they also welcome visitors employed in the sector. Apart from being near several tourist attractions, Sri Damansara Hotel is also near One Utama Shopping Mall, Curve Shopping Mall, Tesco Hypermarket and a few choices of local stalls that serve amazing Malaysian cuisine. I had such a great time at Sri Damansara Hotel, I was given warm welcome and helpful advises, as well as grand services, and I will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone planning some time in Kuala Lumpur. Sri Damansara Hotel 1, Jalan Cempaka SD 12/5, Bandar Sri Damansara PJU 9, 52200 Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Malaysia Phone Number: +60 3-6280 5000 Facilities: 24-hours front desk, air conditioning in all rooms, free parking area, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, flat TV screen with mix channels, hair dryer, free wifi, family rooms and banquet hall. Note that breakfast is complimentary and that pets are not allowed. Other services: Tour packages, transportation service, corporations packages. For bookings, email booking@hotelsd.biz Website: www.hotelsd.biz Getting there: A taxi or a Grabcar from KLIA or KLIA2 airports should cost you around RM 60. A cheaper option is to take the bus from KLIA1 or KLIA2 to KL Central and from there continue with LRT Metro or with Grabcar. MRT line is planning to have a station nearby, called Sri Damansara West Station, which will make accessibility to the Sri Damansara Hotel more convenient.

Bali is a stunning island with plenty of amazing places to visit and lots of exiting activities to do. The island has a nice range of transportation choices for visitors, and I have so far used them extensively. However, nothing can equal the freedom of having your own car, driving it yourself, stopping anywhere you please and decide your own schedule without depending on anyone. This is why this year I have decided to take a nice drive around Bali. I started by renting the car from a reliable car rental company. Echo Bali Car Rental – http://www.echobalicarrental.com – have been around for a few years, have a wide range of cars, comprehensive insurance, and offers a delivery and pick up service. The car I was assigned was a small and reliable Toyota Agya, perfect for the Bali small roads. My tour started at the airport, where I picked up my white Toyota and drove to my first accommodation in Legian, the GrandMas Plus Hotel Legian – www.grandmashotels.com – a green artistic oasis in the heart of the tourist area. Legian stretches north of Kuta to south of Seminyak and it comprises a similar access to shops and bars than Kuta, but it is less chaotic than its sister destination, and it also is a popular destination for surfers. I spent my first day in Legian bicycling around, courtesy of GrandMas Plus Hotel Legian free bicycle rental service: the basic Polygon bicycle took me through the busy streets of Kuta and along the beachfront all the way up to Seminyak and back. It was a sweating activity, I admit, but I loved it: it gave me a chance to get a good zoom-in of local life, of shopping madness and of beachfront activities such as surfing and leisurely lying on beach mats. I ended the day with a great treatment at GrandMas Plus Hotel Legian signature Rehat Massage & Reflexology, a great relief for my aching muscles, ad with a properly cooked pizza at GrandMas Plus Hotel Legian partner restaurant, Bella Italia. The day after I moved to Jimbaran, driving along the great Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai, with its 2 lanes per each traffic direction, and through a recently built underpass that offloads some of the traffic from an important intersection. Jimbaran is an area with a splendid crescent-shaped bay boasting a white sand beach that is home to 5 star beach resorts and to a few more moderate mid-market hotels. There is little in terms of nightlife there, and the area is nowhere near the action of Legian, but the clusters of grilled seafood restaurants on the beach makes up for that, and so do the stunning sunsets to be had from Jimbaran beach. I checked in at the magnificent Keraton Beach Resort – http://keratonjimbaranresort.com – had a shower and rushed to catch my car again and drive off to explore the Bukit. The Bukit is the southernmost point of Bali, a large limestone peninsula attached to the rest of the island by a sliver of land south of the airport. Apart from having a good number of great beaches, perhaps the best on the island, and from being the top surfing spot in Bali, the Bukit is mostly famous for the cliff-hanging temple at Uluwatu. It was there I was heading, after my Toyota shared the peninsular rugged and dry environment with lots of other drivers driving towards the same destinations. I had a great vegetarian lunch on a typical Balinese eatery by the side of the road, and I reached Uluwatu temple compound just in time to enjoy the sunset and the famous Kecak Fire Dance. After I paid the IDR 30,000 (about 3 US$) temple entrance fee, I was free to walk around the temple grounds – you need to dress decently, sarongs are available free of charge at the entrance – but the central courtyards can only be entered during special rituals and are normally off-limit to visitors. Uluwatu forest is inhabited by a large number of cheeky monkeys who love to distract themselves by snatching visitors’ eyeglasses, cameras and bags, so beware, stow away everything you can and leave as much as you can in the car/bus/bike. The iconic Kecak Fire Dance – or Tari Kecak Uluwatu – performed at the cliff-top amphitheater is an art performance where a group of sitting men use voice instead of the traditional gamelan ensemble of instruments, with women in traditional Balinese outfits performing dance-drama in the center. At the entrance price of IDR 100,000 (about 8 US$), it is a 1 hour sunset show you should not miss. Buy the ticket at the temple, or book in advance at reservationbaliindo@gmail.com On day two in Jimbaran I gave the car a break and spent my day at the beach and at the Keraton Beach Resort magnificent free-form pool, I sunbathed and I enjoyed a great lunch of grilled baby snapper at Keraton’s Joglo Restaurant, right on the seafront. In the evening I went to visit the local Jimbaran fish market, where tourist buy fish and seafood – with lobster a great favourite – and have it all grilled at the local stalls that set up BBQ service and sell drinks. I went to bed satisfied… TO BE CONTINUED… STAY TUNED ! A drive around Bali – Part 2 – Ubud, hills and mountains A drive around Bali – Part 3 – Bedugul lake and valley A drive around Bali – Part 4 – scenic Munduk A drive around Bali – Part 5 – the North coast A drive around Bali – Part 6 – the West coast The Toyota Agya was kindly supplied by Echo Bali Car Rental TO RESERVE A ROOM AT GRANDMAS LEGIAN, CLICK HERE !

Malaysia’s Third Le Méridien Hotel Elevates Cuisine, Culture and Art in the Landmark Garden City. Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (HOT: NYSE), today unveiled Le Méridien Putrajaya, a new-build hotel in the heart of Putrajaya, Malaysia’s federal administrative centre. Marking the brand’s third property in Malaysia after Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur and Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu, the hotel offers signature amenities and mid-century modern design that resonates with creative minded travellers seeking enriching new experiences. “Malaysia continues to be a bright spot for our growth and development,” said Charlie Dang, Regional Vice President, Southeast Asia, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. “With the country’s growing influx of visitors, the opening of Le Méridien Putrajaya is set to be an inspired alternative to a traditional urban hotel stay in the Federal administrative Centre of Malaysia, for business and leisure travellers alike.” “We are thrilled with the addition of Le Méridien Putrajaya, expanding the brand’s footprint in Malaysia,” said Brian Povinelli, Global Brand Leader, Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts. “As our third Le Méridien hotel in Malaysia, we look forward to inviting both leisure and business travellers to unlock the destination through cuisine, culture and art.” “We are pleased to unveil the spectacular Le Méridien Putrajaya, a highly anticipated addition to our properties investment”, said Lee Yeow Seng, Chief Executive Officer of IOI Properties Group Bhd. “With its culturally-refined design and atmosphere combined with stunning views of IOI Resort City, the hotel is sure to impress and attract travellers.” Le Méridien Putrajaya features 353 contemporary guestrooms and suites, boasting expansive city or garden views. Every space showcases a timeless European style through an artful Malaysian perspective with locally inspired motifs and craftsmanship. Upon arrival at the hotel, guests encounter a complete sensory experience in the signature Le Méridien Hub, which reinterprets the traditional hotel lobby into a social gathering place and builds on the brand’s award-winning arrival experience and coffee culture. Le Méridien Hub comprises signature elements from the Paris-born brand such as a 24-hour soundtrack curated by French Bossa Nova band Nouvelle Vague, a variety of delectable éclairs, and exclusive illy coffee prepared by Master Baristas. The hotel also offers 15 versatile venues for business meetings, conferences or one-of-a kind social gatherings. Creative touch points through visually appealing art and welcoming pre-function spaces help keep guests and delegates engaged and productive throughout any event. A grand ballroom comprises nearly 2,500 square metres of contemporary function space, supported by a dedicated event planning team and the most technologically advanced audio-visual equipment. Recreational facilities include an inviting swimming pool and a special kids’ pool, providing a welcome respite from a day of business and ensuring a fun element to any family stay. As part of the Le Méridien Family programme, the hotel offers Le Méridien Family Kids Club facility that encourages children to learn and play through its cultural and educational activities. The hotel also presents compelling culinary experiences with two distinctive in-house eateries. Signature restaurant Latest Recipe serves à la carte and comprehensive buffet selections along with interactive live-cooking stations, featuring innovative global flavours and locally inspired cuisine, while specialty restaurant Le Mei creates new interpretations of fine Chinese cuisine. “The mission of Le Méridien is to expose the creative minded traveller to the most unexpected and engaging experiences, inside and outside the hotel. We are confident that we will be able to offer this distinctively memorable experience at Le Méridien Putrajaya,” said Kumar Renoo, General Manager of Le Méridien Putrajaya. Just 15 minutes from downtown Kuala Lumpur by high-speed rail link, and 30 minutes by car from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Le Méridien Putrajaya is ideally situated within close proximity to Putrajaya’s key commercial and retail districts. With wide boulevards and expansive greenery, the area incorporates cultured design that transcends the old and new. Also, guests are just steps away from a host of leisure facilities such as an Olympic-sized ice skating rink, an entertainment park in the largest shopping mall in Southern Klang Valley, the Botanic Gardens and the distinctive pink-domed Putra Mosque. Other recreational activities include golf, nature walks and an open air cruise on the 650-hectare man-made Putrajaya Lake. Opening Offer To celebrate the opening, Le Méridien Putrajaya is offering a special ‘opening package’.

Le Village Beach Resort in Kuantan is a simple beach-front resort located at Balok Beach, Beserah. Its location is one of the world’s top ten spot for windsurfing, so Kuantan is the perfect destination for water sport fans. Located 15 kilometres from Kuantan City, It can easily be reached in under half an hour. What unique and attractive about this resort is that it both offers modern and traditional hotel rooms to suit your demand. This can be seen through its building structure that consists of concrete rooms and wood chalet which boasts a back-to-nature ambience. Le Village Beach Resort’s 6-acre land is perfectly landscaped and the fabulous beach is dotted with palm trees. Talking about the accommodations, Le Village Beach Resort provides 100 well furnished rooms that are warm and comfortable. There are 3 types of rooms: suite room, superior room and standard room, as well as the Batai Chalet. Suite rooms have an area of 40 square meters sitting area; they have air conditioning, en-suite bathroom with cold and hot shower, a mini fridge, television and coffee/tea facilities. The superior room has almost the same facilities, the only difference is the size, which is 27 square meters, offering a choice of double and twin bed. The Batai Chalet is designed as a traditional Kampong wooden house and is equipped with a balcony offering great views. The chalet area is around 24 square meters, suitable for those who travel with a family. Le Village Beach Resort resort provides several leisure facilities such as parking area, swimming pool, kid’s pool, tennis court, camping park, volley ball area, free wifi access, lobby bar and restaurant. Beside this, Le Village Beach Resort also offers an assortment of customized services for visitors like concierge, baby sitting or kid programs and 24-hour security. One good thing about this resort, apart from its vicinity to Pantai Cherating, is that it is surrounded by interesting places like Fish Town, Snake Island, Natural Batik Village, Turtle Sanctuary and the beautiful Kuantan coastline, where you can buy the famous snack, Keropok Lekor. And for those who are keen to try local food, along the way from Beserah to Cherating there are plenty of local stalls and restaurants that you should not miss. I enjoyed my one night stay at Le Village Beach Resort; it scores in terms of location, facilities, cleanliness and reasonable price – RM147 and above – compared to other hotels in the area. I loved the room design and was more than satisfied by the staff assistance. You can reach Le Village Beach Resort by bus, taxi or by private car. BOOK A DISCOUNTED ROOM AT Le Village Beach Resort HERE ! READ ABOUT KUANTAN BEST BEACHES HERE !

Lodtunduh Sari Villas Lodtunduh Village – Ubud – 80571 Bali – Indonesia P: +62 816299210 / +62 361981632 info@lodtunduhsari.com www.lodtunduhsari.com When I thought of pairing my Bali Spirit Festival experience with a great accommodation, I was fortunate enough to be a guest of Lodtunduh Sari Villas. Nestled at the edge of sprawling rice paddies minutes from the heart of Ubud, Lodtunduh Sari Villas has been crafted by a local architect, hence featuring all the traditional Balinese style you would expect: bungalows in ironwood, stone and glass, openness to nature, including the special touch of alang-alang roofs, along with a well-manicured lush gardens. The lovely saltwater pool sits right by the rice fields, which make the perfect frame for this private villas compound. Villas feature lovely open-air bathrooms, private patios and gardens, ornate by fish ponds and discreet boundary walls for the utmost privacy, while the amazingly friendly staff in the common area delight guests with the traditional Balinese hospitality as well as with the á la carte restaurant offering delicious Balinese and International dishes. But the real highlight of Lodtunduh Sari Villas for me was the atmosphere, and the peace and tranquility of the fabulous location, a real sanctuary of relaxation where I felt miles and miles away from the hustle of central Ubud, yet I was so near all the facilities and the Bali Spirit Festival venues. There was absolutely no noise both in the day and in the night, and the entire place was unbelievably quiet; I felt I was in the most serene spot in Ubud. The rice paddies are as genuine as they can get, and you get a real Ubud feeling by strolling down the fields in complete solitude. All villas are air conditioned and boast free high speed wi-fi Internet connection. I found private parking to be a plus that I thanked each time I returned late at night after the festival concerts at Armas in Ubud. Highly recommended stay!

CLIMATE Bako National Park enjoys sunny weather much of the year. Temperature is constant throughout the year, ranging in the lowland from a cool 23C in the evening and early morning to 33C under the shade during the day. Fom late November to late January, the monsoon rain may spoil your outing. The hottest months are from June to late August, when the tribal farmers do their slash-and-burn land clearing before planting the rice. GETTING THERE Bako National Park is reachable by a 30 minutes drive from Kuching combined with a 20-minute longboat ride from Kampung Bako. You can take the Red public bus number 1, originating from the Kuching fresh market, leaving to/from Bako about once every hour starting from about 7AM from Kuching and finishing about 6PM from Bako, but the schedule is not firm. The other travel option is by minivan, departing from the same spot as the above bus throughout the day. Minivans depart when full or when waiting passengers offer the driver enough money; they seat 5 to 7 people, are twice as fast as the bus and can be chartered for around RM30. When you arrive at the Bako Village, register at the visitor center near the main jetty, purchase your National Park entrance ticket, and buy your boat ticket (approx RM100 round trip per boat, max. 5 passengers). Depending on tides, you may either be deposited at a small jetty on the northern end of the headquarters’ beach or on the beach opposite them – take your shoes off and prepare to wade if this is the case. Tell your boatman when you plan to return and he’ll wait for you at the dock. Note that the boatmen are a small, close-knit community and so other boatmen are likely to refuse to take your group if you are waiting for a previously agreed pickup, even if he is late. Departure times might depend on the tides – boats do get stuck at low tide – and the weather, as the small speedboats are ill-suited to stormy conditions. ACCOMMODATION A stay of a night or two is highly recommended to experience the full diversity of Bako National Park. The park can accommodate people in wooden chalet and bungalows for rent at the park headquarters. You need to book early as they are limited and quite popular. There are no cooking facilities within the lodges, but the canteen there is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a designated campsite behind the park headquarters that rents spaces for RM5 per person; bring your own equipment. Tough the area is walled up, beware of macaque monkeys, though, as they have been known to rip into tents to take food and belongings. Accommodation at the Bako National Park includes Hostel Dormitories at RM15.90 per bed or RM 42.40 per room; 2-rooms Lodges, each room 2 single beds, at RM53.00 per room or RM 79.50 per lodge; 2-rooms Chalets, each room 3 single beds, at RM106 per room or RM159.00 per chalet. Contact Bako National Park at +60 (0)82248088, or ENTRANCE FEE Foreigners pay entrance RM20fees, RM7kids and senior citizens. TREKKING ROUTES There are 16 well-marked all the way, color-coded jungle treks divided into two choices of trekking: the wildlife watch and the longer treks leading to rugged jungle-covered hilltops and secluded beaches and providing access to the habitats of the wide range of animal, bird and plant life in the park.. Walks start from the HQ and offer a variety of difficulties. Some of the hikes are over some pretty rugged terrain, with tree roots and vegetation sometimes blocking trails that are less frequented. Ask the park rangers before venturing there. Visitors are advised to stick to the marked trails, and visitors attempting the longer trails are required to register their arrival and itinerary at park headquarters and to read the estimated times the park suggests you allow for each trail and ensure that you allow enough time to return to park headquarters There are no hiking facilities for people suffering from limited mobility, and some of the trails are negotiable only by wooden ladders and rickety bridges and boardwarks. Night-time sightseeing hikes are sometimes led by park staff. For maps and full details of the trails in Bako National Park, browse http://www.trekkingsarawak.com To get more information on Bako National Park, browse http://www.sarawakforestry.com/htm/snp-np-bako.html NOTES Visitors to the park should ensure they carry large quantities of water with them; trekking in subtropical rainforest is thirsty work. The small island of Pulau Lakei has a superb white sand beach. The National Parks Department has a small guard house located on the island. Trips to the island can be arranged with your boatman. There are some mysterious rock paintings just a short walk from the beach.
Bako National Park is reachable by a 30 minutes drive from Kuching combined with a 20-minute longboat ride from Kampung Bako.

There are no cooking facilities within the lodges, but the canteen there is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There is a designated campsite behind the park headquarters that rents spaces for RM5 per person; bring your own equipment. Tough the area is walled up, beware of macaque monkeys, though, as they have been known to rip into tents to take food and belongings.

to the habitats of the wide range of animal, bird and plant life in the park.. Walks start from the HQ and offer a variety of difficulties. Some of the hikes are over some pretty rugged terrain, with tree roots and vegetation sometimes blocking trails that are less frequented. Ask the park rangers before venturing there.

Visitors are advised to stick to the marked trails, and visitors attempting the longer trails are required to register their arrival and itinerary at park headquarters and to read the estimated times the park suggests you allow for each trail and ensure that you allow enough time to return to park headquarters

There are no hiking facilities for people suffering from limited mobility, and some of the trails are negotiable only by wooden ladders and rickety bridges and boardwarks.

Night-time sightseeing hikes are sometimes led by park staff. For maps and full details of the trails in Bako National Park, browse http://www.trekkingsarawak.com
