It’s clear that they prioritize quality and variety to cater to both adults and children. In summary, Zenmaya Phuket exceeded all expectations for a family vacation. With kid-friendly amenities, a fantastic pool scene, amazing beach access for snorkeling, a generous room with an infinity pool and unobstructed views over Patong Bay, and a top-notch dining experience, this resort is the perfect place for families to unwind and create lasting memories. On our recent car journey around Bali, my 6-year-old son, Leonardo, and I spent time exploring the tranquil Pemuteran area. We were lucky to be based at the remarkable Sumberkima Hill Retreat, which offered more than just a breathtaking place to stay; it introduced us to a cause that deeply resonated with us: Metamorfosa. Metamorfosa is a local NGO with a focus on environmental restoration and community empowerment. Founded to address the damaging impact of illegal logging and deforestation, the organisation works on afforestation, reef restoration, and mangrove rehabilitation around the Sumberkima Bay area. They also aim to engage and support local communities by providing sustainable job opportunities that protect, rather than exploit, Bali’s natural resources. Their reef restoration projects are particularly fascinating; they use innovative, eco-friendly techniques to encourage coral growth, helping rebuild the local marine ecosystem. Sumberkima Hill collaborated with Metamorfosa to arrange a short kayaking tour for us through the bay, offering a chance to see their impact firsthand. Leonardo and I jumped at the opportunity, and our guide—a true expert—led us through a peaceful yet adventurous exploration of the area. We started our journey at low tide, gliding over the shallow sea in Sumberkima Bay, where the clear water allowed us to see the sandy seabed and glimpses of sea life: huge starfish, kelp forests, corals and sea urchins. Our first destination was a small tropical island in the bay, Gili Putih , and though the paddling required some effort, the reward was well worth it. Along the way, we stopped at a floating fish farm, where Leonardo was thrilled to walk on the platforms and observe the fish swimming in the nets. Once we arrived at the island, we took a break on the quiet, sandy shores, surrounded by clear, warm water and lush greenery. Leonardo had a chance to explore, gathering shells and small rocks as keepsakes from our adventure. After resting, we made our way back, soaking up the views and the sun. As we paddled, we passed thick mangrove forests, their roots dipping into the water and forming a natural barrier against erosion and storm surges. Our guide explained how the mangroves play a crucial role in maintaining the ecosystem, providing habitats for fish and absorbing carbon dioxide. The day was as much an educational journey as an adventure, leaving both of us inspired by Metamorfosa’s work and the pristine beauty of the natural environment. Leonardo and I returned to Sumberkima Hill feeling grateful for the experience and eager to support the organisation’s conservation efforts in any way we can. Traveling around Bali by car with my 6-year-old son, Leonardo, led us to one of the most fun-filled experiences of our trip—a day at Waterbom in Kuta, in the southern part of the island. Leonardo has visited many water parks in the past, but I must say that Waterbom stands out as truly exceptional, and it exceeded both of our expectations. The park offers an amazing kids’ area that kept Leonardo entertained for hours. With a height of 110 cm, he was able to enjoy a great selection of rides—although at 120 cm, he would have had even more to choose from. Despite this, there was no shortage of activities, and boredom wasn’t an issue for a second! From the lazy river to the splashy slides, the rides offered something for both thrill-seekers and young adventurers. The Funtastic zone, specifically designed for kids, was a hit with its water cannons, slides, and tipping buckets, where Leonardo could safely explore on his own or with others. One feature that made the day stress-free was the park’s dining options. Waterbom Bali is dotted with great food outlets that serve everything from pizza and sandwiches to more diverse and healthy options like salads and fresh juices. You won’t go hungry here! And for treats, the ice cream parlors and popcorn stalls scattered around the park were perfect for satisfying Leonardo’s sweet tooth during breaks from the water. Another nice touch is that the park operates on a cashless system. We topped up a bracelet at the entrance and were able to use it to pay for food, drinks, and anything else we needed, making everything seamless and convenient. The park is very well-organised, with plenty of lockers for storing your things and numerous clean toilets and showers easily accessible across the grounds. This made it easy for us to move around and enjoy ourselves without worrying about our belongings. The friendly staff also provided another service that we found really cool: they take photos of visitors throughout the day, logging them to a dedicated photo bracelet. We could view and choose to purchase the photos at the end of the day, which meant we didn’t have to carry our phones or cameras around, allowing us to focus purely on fun. For families with energetic kids like mine, Waterbom offers a perfect combination of thrilling rides, relaxation areas, and fun activities. Leonardo, although exhausted by the end of the day, managed to squeeze in one last activity before the park closed: a jump on the trampoline! His courage and excitement throughout the day made it one of the most memorable experiences of our Bali trip. Lovina Beach, located in the serene north of Bali, is well-known for its dolphin-watching excursions. Yet, if you spend any time near the shoreline, you’ll quickly realize it’s a bit of a tourist hotspot. Beach hawkers, boatmen, and eager PR folks will offer you a chance to see dolphins seemingly every few steps, making it easy to feel like you’re being sold a gimmick. It took us a few days to finally decide, mainly because I wanted to carefully weigh the different options—private boat or shared, early 6 am departure or a more leisurely 9 am start. The decision wasn’t easy, and I still wasn’t sure about diving into the tourist crowds. But sometimes, fate steps in to push us in the right direction. That morning, Leonardo, my ever-curious son, woke up earlier than usual and declared, “Daddy, today I want to see the dolphins.” As any parent knows, a child’s wish, especially when it’s something as exciting as seeing dolphins, becomes your mission for the day. So, with little time to spare, we quickly dressed, hopped into the car, and headed straight to Lovina Beach, arriving just before 9 am. Lovina mornings are magical, with the calm sea reflecting the dawn light and the mist lifting off the distant mountains. As we strolled along the beach, we recognised a familiar face—a PR guy we had chatted with on previous days. I asked about the boat tours, but as it was already 9 am, he explained that the dolphin tours usually started earlier, around 6 am. Most boats had already sailed. However, he mentioned a possible opportunity: a boatman was waiting for two Irish girls who had booked a 9 am trip but hadn’t shown up yet. If they arrived, we could join them. With our hopes hanging in the balance, we waited patiently, though I could see disappointment beginning to creep into Leonardo’s eyes. The minutes dragged on—9:10, 9:15, 9:20—and just when we thought all hope was lost, the two girls appeared, and our adventure was back on! We boarded a traditional “jukung,” a slim Balinese outrigger boat with striking curved arms extending out from either side. The boat rocked gently as we set off into the open sea, my mind racing with worry. Were we too late? Would the dolphins have already retreated into the deeper waters by now? As we sailed further from the shore, the magic happened. Dolphins—graceful, swift, and incredibly playful—began to emerge from the water in front of us. I counted at least a dozen at first, their sleek, grey bodies slicing through the water as they swam alongside our boat. Leonardo was mesmerised, his wide-eyed expression perfectly mirroring the awe I felt. Seeing them in person was a world away from watching them in documentaries or photos. The dolphins danced through the water in perfect harmony, and while I tried to get the perfect shot with my camera, it was the memory imprinted in my mind that mattered most. Despite the number of boats dotting the water, the dolphins seemed unfazed. Though there were many tourists eager for that perfect picture of a dolphin flipping in the air, it didn’t feel overly crowded. We managed to enjoy the entire experience—dolphins jumping out of the water, swimming playfully in groups, and even coming closer to the boat at times. It was an unforgettable moment for both Leonardo and me. We stayed out on the water until around 11 am, the boat ride back feeling serene as the adrenaline from our dolphin sightings gradually ebbed away. Leonardo couldn’t stop talking about the dolphins, replaying the entire adventure in his mind, and I was content to listen, happy that we had decided to take this trip after all. Why Lovina’s Dolphins? Lovina became famous for its dolphins because of the unique conditions that make the region a prime spot for them. The calm seas, particularly in the early morning, combined with the cool water temperatures, attract schools of fish, and naturally, the dolphins follow. The area near Lovina, particularly Kalibukbuk village, is home to a variety of dolphin species, including the spinner dolphin, known for its acrobatic leaps. For years, local fishermen noticed the dolphins’ regular appearance in the waters just off the coast. Over time, the people of Lovina recognised the potential for tourism, and what started as small-scale tours has now blossomed into one of Bali’s most popular attractions. Though it’s become more commercialised, the experience remains truly magical, offering a rare and intimate encounter with these beautiful creatures. Back on land, we stepped off the boat with a sense of fulfilment. The journey had been well worth it, even if it had required a bit of patience and luck. Our car journey through Bali continued after exploring Lovina and Pemuteran, taking us on a scenic, hilly road up to the village of Gobleg. Along the way, Leonardo and I made some fascinating stops where we delved into two of Bali‘s unique cultural legacies: Kretek cigarettes and cockfighting. The Kretek Cigarettes Tradition As we drove through the highlands, we spotted locals climbing towering, makeshift bamboo ladders to harvest cloves from the treetops. Intrigued, we pulled over to learn more. The bamboo ladders, crafted from extremely long lengths of bamboo with chiseled-out rungs, are a common sight during the clove harvest season. Farmers use several ropes to stabilise the ladders, ensuring safety as they reach for the cloves hanging high above. Despite the precarious work, the pickers exude happiness, often seen joking or playing music as they work. Leonardo, always eager to join in, excitedly started picking cloves at ground level before daring to climb one of the bamboo ladders himself—much to the amusement of the seasoned clove pickers. Kretek, a beloved Indonesian cigarette, is made from a blend of tobacco and cloves, giving it a distinctive crackling sound when smoked. This onomatopoeic term “kretek” captures the essence of these cigarettes, which are favoured by 90% of Indonesian smokers. Cloves from Bali‘s highlands, stretching from Buleleng to Gobleg, are one of the key ingredients in these cigarettes. The spice is not only used for kretek but also in traditional medicine and essential oils. During the clove harvest season, the air in the surrounding villages becomes infused with the rich aroma of drying clove flowers. Villagers spread the flowers across their roofs and yards to dry, creating a fragrant atmosphere that is unmistakable in these highland regions. This local process highlights the deep connection between Bali‘s agricultural roots and its cultural practices. However, harvesting cloves isn’t without its risks. Despite using safety ropes, bamboo ladder rungs can break, leading to accidents. Every year, some pickers fall from the trees, a sobering reminder of the dangerous work behind this lucrative crop. The wealth accumulated from clove farming is evident in the local homes, but it comes with a deep respect for the craft and its inherent risks. Cockfighting: More Than Just a Sport As we continued driving, we noticed rows of roosters enclosed in wicker baskets on the roadside. Their cackling accompanied us along the route, providing a glimpse into another cultural aspect of Bali—cockfighting. Though technically illegal, cockfighting still thrives in Bali, particularly during temple ceremonies where it is part of a religious offering. Blood spilled during these fights is believed to appease Bhuta and Kala, spirits thought to protect the village’s prosperity and harvest. Leonardo, always drawn to animals, was mesmerised by the beautiful roosters. A local owner allowed him to pet and cuddle one of them, an experience that was hard for him to walk away from. The attention and care given to these birds were evident, as owners constantly bathe, train, and even massage them to prepare for fights. Though controversial, cockfighting is deeply rooted in Bali‘s cultural and religious traditions. Gobleg: A Refreshing Highland Retreat Finally, we arrived in Gobleg, a serene village nestled high in the mountains of Bali. The cool climate and panoramic views of the twin lakes—Danau Buyan and Danau Tamblingan—greeted us. This region, surrounded by lush greenery, felt like a peaceful retreat far removed from the more touristy areas of Bali. Agriculture plays a significant role in Gobleg’s economy, and the village remains largely untouched by mass tourism, preserving its authentic Balinese charm. Small temples dot the landscape, and the village regularly participates in traditional Hindu ceremonies. For visitors, the area offers ample opportunities for hiking, bird-watching, and scenic drives. The stunning views and tranquil environment made Gobleg the perfect stop on our journey before continuing our exploration of Bali‘s natural beauty. With the combination of cultural encounters and the tranquil setting of Gobleg, this leg of our Bali road trip provided both adventure and reflection. As part of our round-the-island car journey through Bali, Leonardo and I had the chance to visit one of the island’s most famous attractions—the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud. While monkeys were not the main highlight for Leonardo, given his experiences with their mischievous counterparts in Thailand, the forest itself was what truly captivated him. The Ubud Monkey Forest is more than just a home for Balinese long-tailed macaques; it’s a sacred natural reserve, a place of tranquility, and a symbol of harmony between humans and nature. Leonardo’s Unique Perspective Leonardo, being a nature lover, was immediately drawn to the lush surroundings of the forest. The monkeys here behaved surprisingly well: they didn’t attempt to steal or interact with us in the way Leonardo expected, which gave him a new perspective on these creatures. Although he maintained a healthy respect for them—keeping his distance—he seemed less frightened after seeing how they calmly coexisted with visitors, walking freely around the temple grounds. This made our time in the forest much more enjoyable, as Leonardo was able to relax and focus on the beauty of the place. The Sacred Forest: A Natural and Spiritual Haven Spanning about 12.5 hectares, the Sacred Monkey Forest is not just a tourist spot—it is a site of cultural and spiritual significance. The forest is home to three sacred Hindu temples, including the Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, the Holy Spring Temple, and the Prajapati Temple. These temples have stood for centuries, making the Monkey Forest a place of reverence as much as it is a natural sanctuary. Walking through the forest with Leonardo, we passed these stunning structures, surrounded by towering trees and thick vines. The natural beauty, combined with the peaceful aura of the temples, created a sense of wonder and serenity for both of us. Immersed in Nature’s Beauty The forest itself boasts a rich ecosystem, featuring over 100 species of trees, many of which are centuries old. As we strolled along the winding paths, Leonardo marvelled at the sheer variety of plant life. The cool shade from the forest canopy made it the perfect spot to escape Bali’s heat, and we took our time to explore the bridges, streams, and natural clearings scattered throughout the area. It was a paradise for Leonardo, whose love for nature took over any initial hesitation about the monkeys. The sacredness of the forest also intrigued Leonardo. We learned that this space is believed to embody the concept of Tri Hita Karana—a Balinese Hindu philosophy that aims to achieve harmony between humans, nature, and the divine. This sense of balance was palpable as we wandered deeper into the forest, creating a lasting impression on both of us. A Different Perspective on Monkeys Though monkeys weren’t the primary focus for Leonardo, they were undoubtedly an integral part of our visit. Over 1,000 Balinese long-tailed macaques live in the forest, and we saw them in every corner—hanging from trees, resting near the temples, and interacting with visitors. Leonardo was cautious, as monkeys in Thailand have a reputation for being aggressive, but here they behaved differently. Although he didn’t get too close to them, seeing them coexist peacefully with people challenged Leonardo’s previous experiences and gave him a new outlook on these intelligent creatures. It is worth mentioning that the staff at the Ubud Monkey Forest played a vital role in maintaining the harmonious atmosphere of the sanctuary. Their presence, all dressed in traditional Balinese clothing, was felt everywhere, from watering the lush plants and trees to assisting visitors with directions or capturing the perfect photo. They were also instrumental in managing the monkeys, ensuring that the animals behaved well and did not interfere with guests’ belongings. These dedicated rangers and guards seamlessly balanced their duties, ensuring that both the visitors and the natural inhabitants of the forest coexisted peacefully in this sacred environment. Art and Culture: A Creative Retreat One of the unexpected highlights for both of us was the art gallery located within the sanctuary. The gallery showcases works from renowned local painters and artists, offering visitors a taste of Bali’s rich artistic culture. What fascinated Leonardo most was the section featuring creations by children from different age groups. Seeing the artwork of other kids his age left Leonardo inspired, and he lingered here, absorbed by the creativity on display. It was a wonderful addition to our visit, as it provided Leonardo with a way to connect to the local culture on his own level. A Memorable Experience in Ubud Our visit to the Ubud Monkey Forest turned out to be one of the highlights of our Bali trip. While Leonardo approached it with some initial skepticism due to his past encounters with monkeys, the peacefulness of the sanctuary, the beauty of the forest, and the sense of harmony it embodied left a strong impression on him. Watching him explore the forest, interacting with nature, and observing the calm behaviour of the monkeys was a special experience for me as a parent. The visit provided him with a deeper appreciation for both the natural world and the unique culture of Bali. On a recent drive around Bali, my son Leonardo and I took a detour to explore Symon Art Zoo in Tejakula, an unconventional art gallery and studio founded by the late American artist Symon. Known for his bold, eclectic style, Symon spent over 40 years in Bali, earning a reputation as a dynamic force in the art world, often dubbed “the Balinese Andy Warhol.” His vibrant interpretations of Balinese culture, human figures, and landscapes have captivated art lovers worldwide. A Glimpse Into Symon’s World Symon’s art is a playful fusion of bright colors, exaggerated human forms, and a unique blend of Western and Balinese cultural influences. As we wandered through his studio, Leonardo, with an emerging interest in creativity, was drawn to the eccentricity of Symon’s work. Despite his young age, he could sense something special in the pieces we saw—art that was both whimsical and profound. One of Symon’s distinguishing traits was his ability to take traditional Balinese wood carvings, old Ogoh Ogoh structures, and other found materials and transform them into something entirely fresh. His work—ranging from paintings to sculptures—was a reflection of his fascination with the human body, particularly the male form. Symon didn’t shy away from humor or sensuality in his art, managing to balance the two with elegance and without vulgarity. His reinterpretation of Balinese faces and landscapes, combined with fantastical backgrounds, created an immersive experience that captivated both Leonardo and me. The Interactive Art Zoo Experience Though the gallery has an unpolished feel, with parts of it appearing somewhat abandoned, this only added to its charm for us. Leonardo, ever curious, had the chance to touch and interact with some of Symon’s works, feeling the textures and asking questions about the creative process. His wide-eyed fascination with the vibrant art reflected Symon’s philosophy: art should be engaging and fun, allowing everyone, even children, to connect with it on some level. We were also fortunate to gain access to some lesser-seen parts of the studio, where Symon had prepared materials for his artwork. The friendly, though non-English-speaking caretaker, allowed us a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes world of the artist, much to Leonardo’s delight. Symon: More Than an Artist Symon’s impact on the Bali art scene was more than just about his paintings. He was an artistic innovator, creating a space where art could be felt and experienced, rather than just viewed. His studio-home-gallery, Symon Art Zoo, offered visitors an immersive journey into his creative process. Symon’s ability to reflect deep emotions and human experiences through bold visuals is part of what made him so celebrated. His works are not simply aesthetically pleasing but carry a sense of humor, a touch of the fantastical, and an unfiltered honesty about emotions. While Symon passed away a few years ago, his legacy lives on through his art and the Art Zoo he founded. Visitors can still engage with his work, which has a timeless appeal, and his studio remains a quiet sanctuary perched on a promontory overlooking the ocean in Tedjakula. This stunning backdrop only adds to the allure of the space, making it feel like an island of creativity in the middle of Bali’s natural beauty. Leonardo’s Artistic Curiosity Though Symon’s work is bold and sometimes provocative, it didn’t escape the attention of my 6-year-old. Leonardo was particularly impressed by the mix of media and the idea of turning discarded objects into art. His excitement at the textures and colors made the experience even more engaging for both of us. Leonardo may not have understood the deeper emotional layers in Symon’s art, but his pure, unfiltered reaction mirrored how Symon’s work can resonate on different levels for different audiences. His life and work were captured in Philip Cornwel-Smith’s book Property of the Artist (Sang Yang Seni), which offers a rich biography of Symon’s incredible journey as an artist in Bali. A Visit to Remember Though the Symon Art Zoo is not widely advertised, the experience was well worth it. For a small donation of 50,000 Rupiah (3.5 USD), visitors are welcomed into Symon’s artistic world, where creativity flows freely. In the end, our visit to Symon Art Zoo became one of Leonardo’s favorite memories from our Bali adventure. His love for art was nurtured, and he walked away inspired by Symon’s legacy—a true testament to how art, when engaging and fun, can captivate even the youngest minds. In the end, our visit to Symon Art Zoo left a lasting impression on both Leonardo and me. The gallery’s sense of discovery, combined with Symon’s vibrant and evocative works, made it a unique highlight of our Bali journey. During my recent trip to Bali with my 6-year-old son Leonardo, we were invited to visit the Junglegold chocolate factory in Mengwi, near Ubud, the world’s first 100% plant-based chocolate factory. It was an incredible experience, and both of us had a memorable time learning about chocolate-making from tree to bar. At first, Leonardo was a little disappointed—he fully expected to meet Willy Wonka, and when he didn’t, there was a brief moment of letdown. But that didn’t last long! He quickly got so absorbed in the visit that he forgot all about Willy Wonka and focused entirely on the magical world of Junglegold. The factory is a fascinating place where visitors can watch the entire chocolate-making process through large glass windows. Videos illustrate how Junglegold turns cacao fruits into delicious chocolate bars, allowing visitors to truly appreciate the journey from the cacao tree to the final product. The staff, all friendly and professional, wear uniforms and work meticulously in this organised and pristine environment. For just 100,000 IDR per person, you can participate in the experience, which includes a factory tour, sampling chocolates, making your own chocolate bar and learning about the process in detail. Our guide, Purnaba, took special care of Leonardo, beginning with a tour of the cocoa plantation behind the factory. We learned about the three types of cacao trees and the rich history of cocoa, dating back to the Aztecs. The highlight of the visit was picking a ripe cacao fruit and tasting the white pulp around the pods—a delightful first for Leonardo. He then got to make his own chocolate bar! Purnaba handed him a sticker with his name, and he filled a bag with pure liquid chocolate. After a quick trip to the fridge, Leonardo’s creation was complete, and he proudly placed his sticker on his custom bar. Junglegold truly stands out not only for its delicious, plant-based chocolate but also for its sustainable and ethical practices. Their commitment to creating dairy-free chocolate ensures that everyone, even those with dietary restrictions, can enjoy their treats. With a wide variety of flavors to sample—ranging from sea salt and cocoa nibs to caramel crunch and Bali 100% cocoa—the tasting experience at the factory’s shop and café was a delight. An exciting fact we learned was that last year, Junglegold won second place in the world chocolate competition, coming in right behind Belgium—an impressive feat for this Bali-based factory. The shop has all their flavors on display, making it the perfect place to purchase gifts for loved ones. The staff encourages guests to take their time exploring and sampling different chocolates, making it a fun and relaxed environment. Overall, Junglegold hosted us for a memorable afternoon in Bali. It was a great educational experience for Leonardo, and the opportunity to make his own chocolate bar added an extra touch of excitement to our visit. As the sun set over Ubud, Bali‘s cultural heart, the performers began their hypnotic chants and movements, bringing to life the ancient Hindu epic of Ramayana. Leonardo, typically restless at his young age, was absolutely transfixed for the entire 30-minute performance. The dramatic storytelling through dance, particularly the fire dance segment, created an unforgettable spectacle that kept him on the edge of his seat. The performance sparked his curiosity, leading to numerous questions about the Ramayana epic and Balinese culture – a parent’s dream come true! A Culinary Adventure As a parent, I had some initial concerns about the traditional Balinese dinner that followed. Leonardo can be quite particular about his food, but to my delight and surprise, he enthusiastically sampled half the dishes on offer – a testament to the exceptional quality and child-friendly presentation of the meal. The three-course Royal Rijsttafel Balinese dinner at The Tempayan Restaurant proved to be more than just a meal; it was a culinary journey that complemented the cultural experience perfectly. On our recent Bali car journey, my 6-year-old son, Leonardo, and I made a memorable stop at the Banjar Hot Springs, located in the lush northern hills of Bali. Despite the warm weather, a cool breeze from the surrounding hills made the experience even more refreshing, and we truly enjoyed our day there. Kid-Friendly Sulphur Springs Banjar Hot Springs is perfect for kids, offering two shallow water pools where children can swim and splash safely. Leonardo was thrilled, spending hours swimming in the warm sulphur water, which has a pleasant temperature of 38°C. The two main pools are decorated with stone-carved Naga sculptures that spout water into the pools. In Hindu mythology, Nagas are often associated with water and are considered protectors of hidden treasures. These mystical touches added a magical element to the experience that both kids and adults can enjoy. The sulphur water, while having a slight eggy smell, is said to have healing properties, making it ideal for soothing skin ailments and muscle tension. Leonardo enjoyed the cascades of warm water from the Naga fountains, which created a natural, playful environment. Additionally, there is a third pool with three spouts that provide a natural massage, and while Leonardo played in the main pools, I took the opportunity to relax under one of these spouts. The Natural Setting and Amenities The hot springs are surrounded by tropical gardens, which provide a serene atmosphere for families to unwind. We found the blend of nature and Balinese culture captivating, especially with the beautifully carved Nagas surrounding the pools. After a swim, there’s also a restaurant on-site, perfect for grabbing a snack while soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Facilities like changing rooms and showers were available, making it easy to transition from the pools back to our Bali adventure. A Family-Friendly Experience in Northern Bali Whether you’re embarking on a road trip like we were or looking for a unique spot to unwind with your children, Banjar Hot Springs is a fantastic family-friendly destination. The pools are ideal for both swimming and relaxation, while the natural setting offers an escape from the busier parts of Bali. He was particularly thrilled by the acrobatic performances and the colourful costumes, which seemed to transport us to another world. The professional dancers and artists made the show even more spectacular. Their ability to convey the stories of Indonesia’s regions through movement, music, and stunning visual effects was nothing short of incredible. Each segment introduced a new island and its unique cultural heritage, and the transitions between traditional and contemporary styles were seamless. My son loved the aerial acts and fire dancing, often leaning over to tell me how “cool” it was! I cannot thank the theatre enough for providing us with such an enriching experience.
