W Maldives W Maldives is set to reopen in January 2025 following a bold, full-scale renovation, marking it as the first W Hotel to debut under the brand’s global rebranding initiative. Located on the stunning Fesdu Island in North Ari Atoll, just a 25-minute seaplane ride from Malé, the resort will offer 77 redesigned overwater and beach villas. Each villa blends indoor and outdoor living, featuring private pools and luxurious outdoor spaces that seamlessly connect guests to the surrounding natural beauty. The transformation includes an elevated dining and bar experience with new concepts such as Ocean-to-Table dining at FISH, Nikkei cuisine and Latin American cocktails at SIP, and beachside barbecue at FIRE. Staying true to W Hotels’ forward-thinking ethos, W Maldives will also introduce a suite of sustainability initiatives, including eliminating single-use plastics, installing a biogas plant to recycle food waste, and creating an in-house herb and fruit plantation by the end of 2025. Embodying the resort’s liberated spirit, the renovation enhances public spaces to reflect W Maldives’ playful energy and its role as The Original Wavemaker. The Dali Edition Nestled on a hillside halfway up the Cangshan Mountain, The Dali EDITION, which marks the brand’s third property in China, is expected to establish a new benchmark for the luxury hotel segment in Yunnan Province. Dali, a well-known travel destination in Southwestern China, is known for its picturesque natural scenery, diverse ethnic culture, and vibrant nightlife. At an altitude of 2,090 meters, Dali is well situated on a fertile plateau between the Cangshan Mountain to the west and Erhai Lake to the east. It has traditionally been a significant center on the routes westward from Kunming to the Tibet Autonomous Region. The Dali EDITION will offer convenient accessibility to public transportation, including the Dali Railway Station and Dali Fengyi Airport. The hotel will also allow guests to immerse themselves in natural, cultural and recreational experiences, with its proximity to local attractions such as Cangshan Mountain Scenic Area, Three Pagodas, Dali Old Town, and Dali Stone Mountain Golf Club. With its interior design led by the acclaimed Shenzhen Cheng Chung Design, The Dali EDITION will remain rooted in the brand’s strong sense of simplicity and style. The hotel is expected to offer 150 luxurious, serene guest rooms including suites as well as villas with private pools, most of which will provide breathtaking views of either the Cangshan Mountain or Erhai Lake. The hotel is also slated to feature multiple restaurants and bars, which will offer a selection of food and beverage options that celebrate culinary innovation and reflect the best of the destination. Additional highlights include a swimming pool, gym, spa, recreational activities center, and conference and event spaces including a 600-square-meter outdoor lawn. Rosewood Doha Housed in two striking towers inspired by the coral reefs in the seas surrounding Qatar, Rosewood Doha and Rosewood Residences Doha will consist of an ultra-luxury hotel with 155 exquisite guestrooms and sumptuous suites, 162 serviced apartments for longer-term stays, and 276 residences available for rent. The hotel will be one of the city’s most dynamic culinary destinations with a collection of innovative outlets including three specialty concepts, a Mediterranean restaurant, a cigar lounge, a library lounge, and a grab and go market. Featuring a 1,050-square-meter ballroom and 8 meetings rooms, the property will showcase multiple private event venues, anchored around sleek interiors and state-of-the-art technology, which will transform ordinary events into the extraordinary. The hotel will also introduce Asaya, a ground-breaking urban wellness concept that delivers innovative and integrative solutions for personal transformation. The wellness offering will come complete with Asaya Kitchen to round out the property’s food and beverage program. Rosewood’s Manor Club executive lounge concept will soar to new heights in Qatar and offer guests curated services with added convenience and privacy. Rosewood Residences Doha will also introduce 276 residential apartments, catering to global citizens who crave a lifestyle of authenticity fused with modern luxury. The residences will be complete with bespoke amenities, facilities and services to create the world’s pinnacle of private luxury living and contemporary style in Qatar. Rosewood Miyakojima Rosewood Miyakojima’s 55 villa accommodations will feature private pools, landscaped gardens and unobstructed sea views. Conceived by Netherlands-based Studio Piet Boon, the architecture and interiors are seamlessly designed to immerse guests in the natural surroundings and express harmony with the island through the extensive use of local materials. Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei Inc. is providing local architectural expertise and support in realizing the design vision. Four restaurants and bars will include relaxed beachfront concepts showcasing fresh seafood, prized island-raised beef, locally distilled spirits and craft beer. With a stunning seascape as a backdrop, the resort’s indoor and outdoor event venues will host unforgettable destination weddings and private celebrations. On-site recreation will include a standalone Rosewood Explorer’s Club, Rosewood’s program for younger guests designed to inspire creativity and imagination, encourage adventure, discovery and social responsibility through unique experiences attuned to the destination. Asaya, Rosewood’s pioneering integrated wellness concept, will offer treatment rooms set amid private gardens, indoor and outdoor hydrotherapy facilities and a menu of programs and services influenced by local healing traditions. Beyond the resort, guests will discover an abundance of vividly picturesque sites, from the majestic natural stone arch of nearby Sunayama beach to the perfectly poised lighthouse at Higashi-Hennazaki Cape (a nationally designated “Place of Scenic Beauty”) and the seven-kilometer stretch of Yonaha Maehama, regularly ranked as Japan’s best beach and renowned for its cinematic sunsets. Even a brief sojourn will reveal distinctive customs, culture, dialects, cuisine and crafts as well as the beguiling ways of the Okinawan uchinanchu (“sea people”) who inhabit the island.

He specialises in creating a deep sense of place by drawing upon the natural surroundings and cultural heritage. Also as the designer of LUX* Tea Horse Road in Lijiang and Benzilan, he harmonises the design style and aesthetics while infusing distinctive local elements from each unique destination. Inspired by historic townhouses of the ancient city of Dukezong (also known as “Moonlight City”), the hotel’s 18 exquisitely designed guestrooms and suites are built on the undulating slopes of Little Turtle Mountain. Combining traditional handicraft elements, sleek lines and a neutral palette with the use of natural woods and materials, the design exudes rich Tibetan culture, which is woven into the fabric of the town. Set on highlands at an altitude of 3300 metres, the hotel is equipped with modern technology to enhance the comfort of travellers, including understated furnishings, stylish hairdryers and smart toilets. Its advanced oxygen system provides diffused oxygen to all rooms, and a dual air-conditioning and floor heating system ensures a pleasant temperature throughout the year. Each guestroom looks out to a scenic view, providing an immersive experience of Shambhala‘s history and culture. Particularly striking is the spacious 95sqm LUX* Suite, with its separate living area and a balcony which oversees panoramic views of the old city, Big Buddha Temple and the giant Prayer Wheel. The LUX* Suite can also be connected to two Deluxe Rooms to form a 220sqm three-bedroom Executive Suite, providing a separate yet intimate space for multi-generational trips and contemporary tribe travellers. Culinary is an important part of Yunnan’s culture. The all-day dining restaurant Amber, a 15-seat private dining room, Café LUX* and Executive Lounge combine to form a modern and versatile dining space. Offering unparalleled city view and local flavours prepared with traditional and modern cooking techniques, it is also a social hub for guests to interact with other like-minded travellers. Collaborating with aromatherapy experts, the Tibetan flower series of “Mamma Aroma” bespoke amenities is specially designed with wellbeing in mind for LUX* Tea Horse Road hotels. On sustainability, The Lux Collective’s Tread Lightly groupwide programme is implemented to achieve its sustainable goals for the greater good and to offset carbon footprint. It focuses on the use of eco-friendly materials such as bamboo, wood and corn husk in its guestrooms to better protect the environment. The hotel’s signature Collectable Experiences will take guests deep into the mysteries of Shangri-La and to discover the light in their hearts. Guests can learn about Tibetan Buddhism from monks in the monasteries to reflect on life, trace the footsteps of ancient horse caravan paths to explore historic sights, savour local street delicacies or work with craftsmen of the old city to make a personalised tea horse road token. LUX* Tea Horse Road Shangri-La will transport the culturally curious on a unique 1300-year tea horse trail to experience the adventure of the “Lost Horizon” – in the natural and cultural wonders of Yunnan. In celebration of the new hotel launch, the exclusive opening package presents 50% off the second night for every two-night stay. Valid from 21 September to 31 December 2022.
