The Hari Hong Kong has today officially joined Vignette Collection, IHG Hotels & Resorts’ distinguished collection of independent luxury properties, marking a new chapter for the acclaimed 210-hotel in the heart of Wan Chai. The move connects the hotel with IHG’s global distribution network and IHG One Rewards loyalty programme. The transition follows last month’s announcement that The Hari Hong Kong, The Hari London and the forthcoming The Hari Singapore would join Vignette Collection, expanding a partnership between the Harilela Group and IHG that spans more than five decades. “The Hari embodies relaxed elegance punctuated by eccentricity, wit, culture and intuitive, heartfelt hospitality,” said Dr. Aron Harilela, Chairman and CEO of Harilela Group. “Joining the Vignette Collection preserves The Hari’s one-of-a-kind character while connecting the brand to a global community of travellers who value individuality and authenticity.”. The Hari Hong Kong stands 30-storeys tall on Lockhart Road in Wan Chai, one of Hong Kong’s oldest yet most eclectic districts. The hotel bears the stamp of acclaimed British interior designer Tara Bernerd, comprising 210 guest rooms, including three signature rooftop suites, with views overlooking Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, The Peak and Victoria Harbour. Authentic Italian ristorante Lucciola, contemporary Japanese restaurant Zoku with a remarkable ceiling of angled timber slats in origami-like form, alfresco terrace bar aptly named The Terrace and The Lounge, an all-day sitting area adorned with a compelling collection of books and artworks, make for the hotel’s diverse dining landscape. Spearheading the likes of The Hari Art Prize in support of emerging artists, The Hari Chronicles to foster ongoing conversations about art, design and culture, and “The Hari Neighbourhood Guide Audio Tour” that ventures off the beaten track, The Hari Hong Kong has a deep connection with art, culture, its community and sustainability.
Weddings need not necessarily unfold beneath chandeliers in a traditional hotel ballroom. The Hari Hong Kong is setting the scene for the occasion of a lifetime with an intimate new wedding experience at contemporary Japanese restaurant Zoku and lush alfresco space The Terrace overlooking Wan Chai. ‘The Hari Ever After’ package, priced at HK$50,000 (USD 6378) for 50 guests, affords couples exclusive use of Zoku and The Terrace for four hours, replete with eight varieties of handcrafted Japanese canapés, three hours of free-flow drinks, a whimsical The Hari Candy Trolley and a complimentary night in a luxurious Corner Room for the newlyweds. For couples marking proposals, anniversaries and other special occasions, the hotel offers the ‘Romance in Style’ stay in one of the hotel’s three elegant suites with their own balconies and sweeping vistas of Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, The Peak and Victoria Harbour, as well as bespoke floral arrangements, and The Hari Gift Cards. The wedding ceremony and cocktail reception party move between Zoku, meaning “clan” in Japanese and characterised by leather fluted booths and crimson velvet banquets under a dramatic origami-inspired ceiling of angled timber slats, and open-air The Terrace, framed by greenery and a striking triple-height living wall. Couples select eight of Zoku’s signature Japanese canapés, with choices including deep-fried beef brisket maki, mini octopus skewer with sesame, Atlantic salmon kushiyaki, pork belly taco, shrimp and avocado tart, shrimp tamagoyaki with karasumi, mini sesame crab cake and wasabi prawns. In addition to unlimited red and white wine, Asahi beer and non-alcoholic refreshments for three hours and The Hari Candy Trolly brimming with the likes of macarons and marshmallows, elegant venue decorations and complimentary value parking for up to two vehicles, subject to availability, are also included. After the wedding, the newlyweds head upstairs for their complimentary room night in a Corner Room, with a 10% privilege to upgrade to a luxurious suite featuring a private terrace, a rarity in Hong Kong. “The greatest luxury for a wedding, in my humble opinion, is forgetting about the stress of orchestrating such an occasion yourself and leaving that to our team so you can focus on the person you are marrying and the people you have chosen to celebrate with,” said The Hari Hong Kong’s general manager Edward E. Snoeks. “Zoku and The Terrace offer something remarkably different to the traditional hotel ballroom: two singular venues entirely for the wedding, with atmospheric Zoku seamlessly flowing into the open air and greenery of The Terrace. Our team takes care of every detail behind the scenes, right down to the little touches people remember, leaving the bride and groom-to-be free to forget the logistics and lose themselves in a day nothing short of extraordinary.” The Hari Hong Kong’s Romance in Style package couples a one-night stay in a suite with breakfast for two, a chocolate strawberry bouquet and a romantic turndown with rose petals, a bubble bath and a choice of Champagne, red wine or white wine. Couples also receive 15% off food and beverages at Lucciola, The Lounge, Zoku & The Terrace, as well as early check-in and late check-out, subject to availability. For wedding enquiries, contact The Hari Hong Kong’s events team at eventshk@thehari.com or +852 9502 0955. For further information about the hotel, visit https://www.thehari.com/hong-kong/weddings/, email askme@thehari.com or call +852 2129 0388. The Hari Ever After package is priced at HK$50,000 (USD 6378) for 50 guests and subject to a 10% service charge. Each additional guest costs HK$800 (USD 102) + 10% service charge.

Our team takes care of every detail behind the scenes, right down to the little touches people remember, leaving the bride and groom-to-be free to forget the logistics and lose themselves in a day nothing short of extraordinary.”

At The Hari Hong Kong this summer, choosing where to brunch may be the hardest decision of the weekend. In a dining room defined by warm amber and green tones, timber-lined walls and abundant natural light, Lucciola serves a weekend brunch centred on seasonal ingredients and classic Italian flavours. Guests begin with a selection of antipasti before moving on to dishes such as sauteed black mussels with parsley and garlic, roasted lamb T-bone, and Lucciola’s signature tiramisu. The brunch is priced from HKD 628 per person and includes 90 minutes of free-flow red, white and sparkling wine. Guests can also opt for a newly extended two-hour free-flow Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne package for an additional HKD 368 per person. A floor above, Zoku and adjacent outdoor venue The Terrace offer a contrasting take on the weekend ritual. Meaning “clan” in Japanese, Zoku is characterised by leather fluted booths and crimson velvet banquettes under an origami-inspired ceiling of angled timber slats. The Terrace overlooking Wan Chai provides an open-air setting framed by lush greenery and a striking triple-height living wall. The brunch begins with “Otoshi: The Izakaya Way” – a selection of Japanese snacks – followed by an assorted sashimi platter showcasing seasonal seafood before a choice of mains and desserts. Highlights include truffle Yaki soba and A-4 Miyazaki Wagyu steak. Priced from HKD 628 per person, brunch at Zoku & The Terrace includes free-flow drinks. Guests can also upgrade to a newly extended two-hour free-flow package featuring Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne and premium sake for an additional HKD 368 per person. “One of the things we love about our weekend brunches is that they offer two completely different experiences under the one roof,” said Francesco Gava, the hotel’s Director of Food & Beverage. “Some guests are drawn to the warmth and conviviality of our Italian brunch, yet others prefer contemporary Japanese flavours with sake at Zoku & The Terrace.” Weekend Brunch is available at Lucciola every Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, and at Zoku & The Terrace on Saturdays and public holidays. Both brunch experiences are served between 12:00pm and 4:30pm (with last orders at 2:30pm). Food items are subject to seasonal rotation, ensuring a fresh experience with every visit. Prices are subject to a 10% service charge. For more information or reservations, visit thehari.com/hong-kong. Blackberry lavender cheesecake rounds off the set menus that are priced for two people at HK$1688 (first seating) and HK$1988 (second seating) inclusive of coffee or tea. Zoku’s two Valentine’s Day set dinner menus begin with a moriwase sashimi platter brimming with premium seasonal fish and seafood, with an optional half dozen fresh seasonal oysters for an additional HK$168.
The Hari Hong Kong has achieved ‘EarthCheck Silver status’ in recognition of its broad spectrum of sustainability initiatives, placing the Wan Chai hotel among the globe’s most eco-friendly travel and tourism operators. To achieve and maintain Silver Certified accreditation with EarthCheck, the world’s leading scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory group, the hotel must be independently audited annually and meet stringent requirements across key performance areas. The hotel’s potable water consumption for the audited year of 2024 was 204.2L per guest night. That figure is just over half of the regional average of 361L per guest night, and below what EarthCheck deems the “regional leader” level – meaning exemplary standard of performance for the type and location of an operation – at 253L per guest night. The Hari Hong Kong’s energy consumption per guest night was 101.15 MJ for 2024, almost half the regional average of 180.3 MJ per guest night and also below the regional leader level of 126MJ per guest night. During the same timeframe, the hotel sent 3.37L of waste to landfill per guest night, just over a third of the regional average of 9.01L per guest night and almost half of the regional leader level of 6.31L per guest night. The hotel’s greenhouse gas emissions for the audited year of 2024 were 18.33kg CO2-e per guest night, sitting right at the regional leader level and under the regional average of 25kg CO2-e per guest night. Other performance highlights during the audited year include, due to the hotel’s ban on single use plastics, the avoidance of an estimated 109,878 500ml plastic bottles and 47,767 30ml bathroom amenities bottles. The Hari Hong Kong, which opened in December 2020 in the heart of Wan Chai, was established through sustainable design and construction which sought to reduce negative impacts on the environment. The hotel is also a LEED (Silver), BEAM Plus (Silver) and BEEO certified hotel in recognition for its sustainable design, construction and energy efficiency performance. “We are continually striving to improve our performance in environmental and social sustainability across everything we do, ranging from our energy and water conservation efforts to responsible purchasing, local employment and community support,” said the hotel’s General Manager Edward E. Snoeks. The hotel works with Green Island Cement on its ShellCem Project to collect and upcycle oyster shells and other seashells such as mussel and scallop shells into cement. A green wall on the facade of the hotel’s second floor terrace, that stretches three stories high, contributes positively to the environment by helping to reduce the temperature of surrounding areas.
The Hari Hong Kong has launched a cultural immersion experience that guides guests through the remarkable rota of art adorning its walls and Wan Chai neighbourhood’s exciting art scene. “The Hari Art Trail” is underpinned by a personalised art tour with the hotel’s in-house art ambassador, practicing artist Bibek Rai, who shares anecdotes behind the hotel’s eclectic art collection and contemporary design. Spanning a variety of mediums including installations, mixed media, surreal photographs, graphic paintings, three-dimensional images and digital film pieces, the art is curated by London-based art advisory A Space For Art, which also selects works for sister hotel The Hari London. Vast “The Monumental Melt” by Rado Kirov using mirrored stainless steel, Tseng Kwong Chi’s iconic black and white self-portrait series, and Lee Leenam’s mesmerising digital reinterpretation of the “New Kiss” are among standouts in The Hari Hong Kong’s permanent collection. The hotel’s rotating display includes works from The Hari Art Prize Hong Kong Edition in support of talented emerging artists. Following Bibek’s art tour, guests are encouraged to continue the art trail by visiting two of Wan Chai’s hidden gems; 1960s tenement block turned creative hub Foo Tak Building and appointment-only gallery PHD Group. Described by locals as a “vertical art village”, Foo Tak Building has partially subsidized rental units at below-market rates. Its variety of arts and cultural organisations, focused on the likes of visual arts, literature and publishing, sound and performing arts, and community development, pursue their artistic endeavours without burdensome rents. Housed in a renovated space that used to be a private rooftop clubhouse in the 1970s, contemporary gallery PHD Group’s concrete walls and floors showca se creations from the region’s emerging and mid-career artists. Wai Chai and neighbouring Central District are home to a host of art galleries including Woaw Gallery, Kiang Malingue, 10 Chancery Lane Gallery, Villepin, White Cube Hong Kong, Pearl Lam Galleries, Over The Influence, Tang Contemporary Art and Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery. “With art running through The Hari Hong Kong’s DNA, our art trail affords a whole new perspective of our hotel and Wan Chai, one of Hong Kong’s oldest yet most creative districts,” said The Hari Hong Kong’s General Manager Edward E. Snoeks. “Bringing more depth and substance to a stay with us, Bibek connects guests with the narratives behind our artworks and our hotel’s design before guests step out into Wan Chai to interact with its edgy art scene,.” The elegant 30-story hotel bears the stamp of acclaimed British interior designer Tara Bernerd, comprising 210 guest rooms, including three signature rooftop suites, with views overlooking Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, The Peak and Victoria Harbour. Authentic Italian ristorante Lucciola, contemporary Japanese restaurant Zoku (with a remarkable ceiling of angled timber slats in origami-like forms), alfresco terrace bar aptly named The Terrace and The Lounge, an all-day sitting area adorned with a compelling collection of art and books, make for the hotel’s diverse dining landscape. The exclusive art tour with Bibek, who is also part of the hotel’s restaurant services team, is available by appointment only and subject to availability. Offering The Hari Art Prize and The Hari Chronicles, an ongoing series of conversations about art, design, culture and Hong Kong, The Hari Hong Kong makes for a gateway to art and culture. The globe’s leading scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory group for sustainable travel has awarded The Hari Hong Kong ‘EarthCheck Benchmarked Bronze status’ for its raft of sustainability measures.
