The Hari Hong Kong has partnered with White Cube Hong Kong, to share a selection of works from ‘Thresholds,’ a group exhibition featuring the work of contemporary artists whose practices are rooted in or connected to Indonesia. Through a diverse range of mediums, the temporary exhibition explores the interwoven cycles of life, death and transformation, with a focus on themes of ritual, spirituality, and reincarnation. Artworks will be on display at the hotel until 31 March 2026. To celebrate the exhibition, The Hari Hong Kong is offering menu specials inspired by Indonesian cuisine. At The Lounge, one of the public spaces where ‘Thresholds’ adorns the walls, visitors can enjoy dishes such as chicken karaage wrapped in pandan leaf, or pandan coconut panna cotta. These can be enjoyed alongside the Threshold Special, a pandan-flavoured cocktail or mocktail. The pandan leaf, a staple in Indonesian cooking, adds a sweet aroma and vibrant green colour to the limited-time dishes and drinks. The pandan leaf also holds spiritual significance. Known as a symbol of purity, the leaf is often used for the woven basket of Canang Sari, daily offerings. Curated by Galuh Sukardi, an independent curator based in Indonesia, ‘Thresholds’ brings together painting, sculpture, textile, drawing and silverware by multigenerational artists: Galuh Anindita, Arahmaiani, Christine Ay Tjoe, Nadiah Bamadhaj, Kei Imazu, Ines Katamso, I Gusti Ayu Kadek Murniasih (Murni), Citra Sasmita and Jennifer Tee. Each artist charts their own individual journey of transformation: spiritual, political, physical or mythological. Forming a chorus of unique experiences, each shaped by the crossing of a ‘threshold’, the works selected reflect an understanding of the coexistence of light and dark; a dynamic whereby opposite forces are not at odds but held in balance. Rooted in Indonesian traditions, and amid contemporary ecological, spiritual and social fractures, the exhibition takes the concept of the black-and-white Balinese poleng cloth as a point of a departure. Traditionally used to adorn statues, shrines and sacred trees, the cloth’s bold, criss-crossing pattern symbolises a harmony of opposites. ‘Thresholds’ at The Hari Hong Kong extends White Cube’s collaboration with the hotel through their annual The Hari Art Prize, which originated in The Hari London, with Irene Bradbury, Global Director, Artist Liaison at White Cube, serving on the judging panel for the London prize. In 2023, The Hari Hong Kong introduced this event, now in its third year. Wendy Xu, Managing Director, Asia at White Cube, is part of the judging panel for The Hari Art Prize 2026 in Hong Kong. ‘Thresholds, curated by Galuh Sukardi’ is on view at White Cube Hong Kong until 10 January 2026. Concurrently, the exhibition extends to The Hari Hong Kong until 31 March 2026.

Condé Nast Traveler today announced the results of its annual Readers’ Choice Awards with The Hari Hong Kong recognized in the #3 spot on a list of the best hotels in Hong Kong & Macau. Condé Nast Traveler received more than 757,000 survey responses from readers across the United States.
The Hari Hong Kong is about to have a shuckin’ good time with the launch of “Oyster Tuesday”, anchored by fresh, seasonal oysters paired with warm sake, whisky, bubbles and more. Standing 30 storeys tall on eclectic Lockhart Road, the elegant hotel’s contemporary Japanese restaurant Zoku on the second floor hosts the indulgent dining experience every Tuesday from 6-9pm, starting at HK$988 for two people and HK$488 per additional person. Oyster Tuesday is underscored by 90 minutes of free flow oysters served with lime and ponzu. The menu also features golden fried oyster, avocado and panca chili “makimono” sushi, and “kake udon” noodles with oysters, smoked herring caviar, mushroom dashi, abura-age, shimeji mushroom. “Kushiyaki” skewers from the grill, such as Japanese taro with Saikyo miso and lemon zest, Kyushu chicken thigh with togarashi and mirin, and Atlantic salmon with asparagus and teriyaki, are also served. Hojicha crème brulee with coconut sorbet rounds out the feast. “The good news is our oysters are sustainably sourced,” said Francesco Gava, Director of Food & Beverage at The Hari Hong Kong. “We are also joining forces with Green Island Cement on its ShellCem Project to collect and upcycle our oyster shells, along with other seashells like mussel and scallop shells, and transform them into cement.” Beverage options include a warm sake pairing of Gassan Houjun Karakuchi or Yamagata Masamune Junmai, each 180mL, for HK$168 and HK$198 respectively. A whisky and cigar combo – a Confidenciaal cigar and Dalmore 12 Year Single Malt Whisky – is HK$328. Diners are spoilt for choice with free-flow drinks packages spanning two hours. For those on the sober bandwagon, the ‘Jimina’ package for HK$168 includes signature mocktails, Saicho sparkling tea, soft drinks, non-alcoholic beer, juices, and sparkling and still water. ‘Toohanbi’ with apple juice, peach puree, shiso leaf and tonic water, ‘Breeze’ with mint, Hokkaido milk and elderflower, and ‘Yuzu Square’ with orange juice, yuzu juice, honey and pomegranate are among the signature mocktails. The ‘Jimina and Kanpai’ package for HK$288 also offers a choice of highball and signature cocktails such as ‘Chakai’ made up of Daiyame Shochu, lychee, Komasa Hojicha Gin, passion fruit, and lemon, ‘Hatsukoi’ with pisco, Kyoho, Yakult, lime, and aer, and ‘Suzie Wong’, concocted from Ballantine’s scotch whisky, rose, cucumber, yuzu, and lemon. The ‘All Drinks’ package priced at HK$388 includes ‘Jimina + Kanpai’ and ‘Champagne Vs Sake’, with free-flow Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut and Gassan Junmai Houjun Karakuchi. Award-winning Zoku makes for an intimate setting of leather fluted booths, crimson velvet banquettes and bar lounge chairs amid the glow of pink bubble glass tealight holders and orange hand-stitched fringed lampshades. Meaning “clan” in Japanese, Zoku is dominated by a mesmerizing ceiling of angled timber slats in origami-like forms. Adjacent to Zoku, The Terrace is an alfresco terrace bar framed by greenery. Authentic Italian ristorante Lucciola, defined by a bold palette of amber and green and The Lounge, an all-day sitting area adorned with a compelling collection of art and books, further enrich the hotel’s dining offerings. The globe’s leading scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory group for sustainable travel has awarded The Hari Hong Kong ‘EarthCheck Benchmarked Bronze status’ for its host of sustainability measures. To achieve Benchmarked Bronze status, The Hari Hong Kong has excelled across key performance areas including energy efficiency, water use, carbon emissions, chemicals, community and employee impact, paper use, waste and more.
The Hari Hong Kong’s new after-dark tour casts Wan Chai, one of Hong Kong’s oldest and most eccentric districts, in a whole new light. Reaching 30 storeys on lively Lockhart Road, in the heart of Wan Chai, the elegant hotel has joined forces with licensed guide and travel content creator @explore_hongkong to roll out the private ‘Best of Wan Chai at Night Tour – Explore Hong Kong like a Local’. The roughly 2.5-hour experience, on offer from 5pm, imparts the history and stories of Wan Chai and neighbouring Causeway Bay as well as fascinating insights into Hong Kong’s Feng Shui. Tour highlights include partaking in ‘Villain Hitting’, a form of Chinese folk sorcery, and visiting a wet market, street markets and a 140-year-old tea shop. Participants cross one of Hong Kong’s busiest streets, sample different local snacks, ride the 100-year-old Ding Ding Tram, take a close-up look of iconic skyscrapers and soak up panoramic views of Kowloon and Hong Kong. “Edgy, dynamic and diverse, we love our neighbourhood and community and this remarkable new experience reveals why,” The Hari Hong Kong’s General Manager Edward E. Snoeks said. “Each and every attraction on our new tour peels back Wan Chai’s layers, connecting guests with its rich past and exciting present.” Once a small fishing village, Wan Chai morphed into a bustling urban area following British colonisation in 1841. Now a hub of cultural and commercial activity, Wan Chai is renowned for its historical landmarks, street markets, skyscrapers and blend of Eastern and Western influences. The Hari Hong Kong bears the stamp of acclaimed British interior designer Tara Bernerd, comprising 210 guest rooms, including three signature rooftop suites, with views overlooking Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, The Peak and Victoria Harbour. Authentic Italian ristorante Lucciola, defined by a bold palette of amber and green; contemporary Japanese restaurant Zoku, featuring a remarkable ceiling of angled timber slats in origami-like forms; alfresco terrace bar aptly named The Terrace; and The Lounge, an all-day sitting area adorned with a compelling collection of art and books, make for the hotel’s diverse dining landscape. The sister property of The Hari London, The Hari Hong Kong has a deep connection with art, culture, and its community, spearheading the likes of The Hari Art Prize in support of emerging artists and The Hari Chronicles to foster ongoing conversations about art, design and culture.
The Hari Hong Kong has launched a cultural immersion experience that guides guests through the remarkable rota of art adorning its walls and Wan Chai neighbourhood’s exciting art scene. “The Hari Art Trail” is underpinned by a personalised art tour with the hotel’s in-house art ambassador, practicing artist Bibek Rai, who shares anecdotes behind the hotel’s eclectic art collection and contemporary design. Spanning a variety of mediums including installations, mixed media, surreal photographs, graphic paintings, three-dimensional images and digital film pieces, the art is curated by London-based art advisory A Space For Art, which also selects works for sister hotel The Hari London. Vast “The Monumental Melt” by Rado Kirov using mirrored stainless steel, Tseng Kwong Chi’s iconic black and white self-portrait series, and Lee Leenam’s mesmerising digital reinterpretation of the “New Kiss” are among standouts in The Hari Hong Kong’s permanent collection. The hotel’s rotating display includes works from The Hari Art Prize Hong Kong Edition in support of talented emerging artists. Following Bibek’s art tour, guests are encouraged to continue the art trail by visiting two of Wan Chai’s hidden gems; 1960s tenement block turned creative hub Foo Tak Building and appointment-only gallery PHD Group. Described by locals as a “vertical art village”, Foo Tak Building has partially subsidized rental units at below-market rates. Its variety of arts and cultural organisations, focused on the likes of visual arts, literature and publishing, sound and performing arts, and community development, pursue their artistic endeavours without burdensome rents. Housed in a renovated space that used to be a private rooftop clubhouse in the 1970s, contemporary gallery PHD Group’s concrete walls and floors showca se creations from the region’s emerging and mid-career artists. Wai Chai and neighbouring Central District are home to a host of art galleries including Woaw Gallery, Kiang Malingue, 10 Chancery Lane Gallery, Villepin, White Cube Hong Kong, Pearl Lam Galleries, Over The Influence, Tang Contemporary Art and Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery. “With art running through The Hari Hong Kong’s DNA, our art trail affords a whole new perspective of our hotel and Wan Chai, one of Hong Kong’s oldest yet most creative districts,” said The Hari Hong Kong’s General Manager Edward E. Snoeks. “Bringing more depth and substance to a stay with us, Bibek connects guests with the narratives behind our artworks and our hotel’s design before guests step out into Wan Chai to interact with its edgy art scene,.” The elegant 30-story hotel bears the stamp of acclaimed British interior designer Tara Bernerd, comprising 210 guest rooms, including three signature rooftop suites, with views overlooking Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, The Peak and Victoria Harbour. Authentic Italian ristorante Lucciola, contemporary Japanese restaurant Zoku (with a remarkable ceiling of angled timber slats in origami-like forms), alfresco terrace bar aptly named The Terrace and The Lounge, an all-day sitting area adorned with a compelling collection of art and books, make for the hotel’s diverse dining landscape. The exclusive art tour with Bibek, who is also part of the hotel’s restaurant services team, is available by appointment only and subject to availability. Offering The Hari Art Prize and The Hari Chronicles, an ongoing series of conversations about art, design, culture and Hong Kong, The Hari Hong Kong makes for a gateway to art and culture. The globe’s leading scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory group for sustainable travel has awarded The Hari Hong Kong ‘EarthCheck Benchmarked Bronze status’ for its raft of sustainability measures.
In a salute to ubiquitous wellness travel trends, The Hari Hong Kong has launched a “retox” experience that celebrates the finer things in life. Leave your guilt at the door and indulge in a late-night cigar, a tumbler of gin, a dessert platter and sweet bubbles in The Hari’s one-night “Retox But Not Detox” room package, which also includes a luxurious room or suite and breakfast for two. The most toxic part of the package – the ‘Late-Night Retox’ — affords a choice of either the “Cigar Combo” or “Sweet Duo” for two. Cigar Combo pairs a Confidenciaal cigar with a glass of the hotel’s own brand of gin, The Hari London Dry Gin, characterised by citrus, peppercorn and floral nuances, on the rocks for each person. Sweet Duo spoils guests to a dessert platter each of homemade Amalfi lemon sponge, berries panna cotta, and pistachio cannoli accompanied by a glass of Moscato d’Asti Scagliola Primo Bacio Piedmont, Italy. “Not everyone’s idea of a great getaway involves rolling out a yoga mat, meditating and drinking freshly squeezed juice,” said Francesco Gava, Director of Food & Beverage at The Hari Hong Kong. “Detoxing is all well and good yet with so much talk of wellness post-COVID, it can get a bit overwhelming. So much so we want to acknowledge that it’s okay to like the finer things in life; a great cigar, an irresistible gin, an indulgent homemade dessert and a glass of sweet bubbles.” Priced from HK$2,360++, the room package will be available from April 1 until Sept. 30 this year. Retox But Not Detox will offer early check-in at 2pm and late check-out until 2pm (subject to availability upon check-in). Late-Night Retox is available at Zoku & The Terrace after 8pm. For guests not availing the Retox But Not Detox package, Zoku & The Terrace offer the Cigar Combo for HK$298+ per person and Sweet Duo for HK$228+ per person. A spiced, aromatic take on the traditional London Dry, the hotel launched its own The Hari Gin in conjunction with its sister property The Hari London. Combining cardamom, cassia bark, star anise and cloves, The Hari Gin encapsulates the Harilela family’s Indian heritage. The Hari Gin is a nod to the CEO and chairman of Harilela Hotels Limited and the founder of The Hari Hong Kong Dr Aron Harilela’s late father Dr Hari Harilela’s love for a classic gin martini. The Hari Gin clinched silver for World’s Best Contemporary Style at the renowned World Gin Awards 2022. Award-winning Zoku makes for an intimate setting of leather fluted booths, crimson velvet banquettes and bar lounge chairs amid the glow of pink bubble glass tealight holders and orange hand stitched fringed lampshades. Meaning “clan” in Japanese, Zoku is dominated by a mesmerizing ceiling of angled timber slats in origami-like forms. Adjacent to Zoku, The Terrace is an alfresco terrace bar framed by greenery. The elegant hotel’s rooms and suites are imagined by renowned interior designer Tara Bernerd with views overlooking Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, The Peak and Victoria Harbour. Adorned with timber panelling, natural linen wallpaper, plush velvet upholstery and eccentric art, the bedrooms are separated from marble bathrooms by brass Crittall doors.
