<p>SINGAPORE, 12 February 2018 – Local artists and millennial travellers will find a new meeting ground at M Social Singapore from March 2018. The award-winning lifestyle design boutique hotel, nestled along the Singapore River at Robertson Quay, introduces M Social Communities—an exciting experiential programme developed by Millennium Hotels and Resorts and supported by Singapore Tourism Board (STB) through its pilot Marketing Innovation Programme. The Marketing Innovation Programme is an STB funding initiative that awards and amplifies marketing campaigns that push the boundaries of innovative marketing and tell a great Singapore story. M Social Communities aims to incorporate Singapore’s arts scene into the quintessential M Social experience by providing an experiential setting for local creatives and artisans who are deeply rooted in their communities, to share their craft with visitors from around the world. Art, design and technology have always been the cornerstones of the M Social brand identity. Through this programme, M Social Singapore encourages guests to “discover yourself” through the unique cultural characteristics of Singapore’s diverse creative community. Beginning with the programme’s launch on 2 March 2018, the hotel’s social calendar will showcase a curated line-up of local craftsmen and creatives, each featured for two- week instalments that include exhibitions, talks and workshops. Through a variety of events, overseas guests and members of the public can interact with the works of Singapore’s most creative individuals, meet them in person and learn about their inspirations and processes first-hand; thereby enriching their Singapore experience with new concepts, stories and ideas. From music and photography, to fashion and crafts, M Social Communities’ diverse spectrum of creative disciplines and shared social experiences offers exciting opportunities for guests to integrate and engage with the local community. Says Lee Richards, Vice President of Operations, South East Asia, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, “We believe in making real-life connections in an increasingly digitised world, and M Social Communities is our way of working with local creatives to bring authentic, homegrown experiences directly to our guests. We hope to promote cross-learning and idea-sharing between Singapore’s artistic community and our guests from around the world, enabling both groups to learn and grow from each other’s experiences.” “We are pleased to support the M Social Communities campaign under STB’s pilot Marketing Innovation Programme. Theirs is a promising idea that will enable guests to share in the passion and pride that fuels artists and their work, and profiles Singapore as a destination where visitors can deepen and share their passions,” says Ms Jacqueline Ng, Director, Marketing Partnerships and Planning, Singapore Tourism Board. Get hands-on experience throwing your very own ceramic creation under the guidance of passionate potters Delphine Sng, Eddie Yee and Mark Lee, or fold up some fun alongside self-taught origami artist Rae Lim of Paper in my Attic.
