<p>Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong &#38; Macau announced the winners of the Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2023 this week, revealing their readers’ picks of the best hotels, pools, spas and hotel general managers throughout the region. Meliá Hotels International, a Spanish hotel group that has been expanding in Southeast Asia in recent years, landed three coveted spots on the reader-driven awards list. Meliá Ba Vi Mountain Retreat, with its unique location inside Ba Vi National Park, scored the 7th spot in Top Ten Upcountry Hotels in Vietnam. Meliá Chiang Mai, towering over the River Ping in the heart of the city, took the 9th spot in the Top Ten Upcountry Hotels in Thailand. Gran Meliá Jakarta, a luxury hotel situated in a prestigious district of Indonesia’s capital, placed in the Top Ten City Hotels in Indonesia. “These awards represent the most luxurious and culturally-immersive hotels throughout Asia and we’re delighted that Meliá was represented amongst the winning properties,” said Ignacio Martin, Meliá Hotels International managing director for Asia Pacific. “As we continue to grow in the region we hope to see more of our stunning properties on the 2024 list.” Meliá Hotels International currently has 31 hotels in Southeast Asia, spread across 5 countries, and nine hotels in the pipeline for opening in the next few years. Meliá Ba Vi Mountain Retreat, less than two hours from the bustle of Vietnam’s capital, features 44 rooms and three villas nestled within the mountains. The overall design seamlessly blends French colonial and Vietnamese traditional architecture. Meliá Chiang Mai, a 260-key urban hotel, has garnered a reputation for its authentic Mediterranean and northern Thailand cuisine as well as its 360-degree rooftop bar, which is the highest in the city. Gran Meliá Jakarta features 334 guestrooms and suites, six restaurants and bars, and the new Jimbaran Venue with the capacity for up to 300 guests.
