<p>The hotel market in Malaysia is changing in a big way, but not everyone sees it yet. For many years, small hotels, beach places to stay, and high-end city hotels used Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) to get people to book rooms. OTAs can get a lot of people in the door, but they also take a big part of the money with their high fees. Now, smart hotel owners are trying a new way to get bookings. They work on search engines and use new AI tools for trip planning. This helps them get more guests to book right from their own site. That way, they can keep more money from each guest. The Evolution of Digital Discovery in the Malaysian Hospitality Industry Traveler behavior in Southeast Asia has changed. People now plan their trips using conversations rather than just looking up simple questions online. Tourists do not just type things like &#8220;hotels in Penang&#8221; or &#8220;best resort in Langkawi&#8221; anymore. They talk to AI tools and give more detailed requests, such as &#8220;5-day relaxed trip plan in Penang with boutique eco-hotel tips.&#8221; If hotels want to reach these travelers, they need to show up well in both old search engines and new AI platforms. Working with companies that offer local SEO services in Malaysia helps hotels get found more in local searches. This can help with map listings, special web code tags, and showing up when people are looking for places nearby. The Dual-Engine Strategy: Combining Local SEO and Generative AI Optimization To get more direct bookings, hotels in Malaysia need to work on two types of online platforms. First, they should focus on search engine results pages, also called SERPs. Second, they need to pay attention to AI tools that help people with quick answers, like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. 1. Capturing Local Search Intent Local search is still key when people want to book something right away. Many travelers use Google Maps and local map packs if they need a room or something close by fast. Hotels get this kind of traffic by making sure their Name, Address, and Phone (NAP) is always the same online. They also put out local content about being close to landmarks. Getting real reviews from guests also helps them stand out. 2. Winning Recommendation Engine Algorithms AI trip planners do not choose websites based just on keyword use. They take the user&#8217;s feelings, facts, and reviews from a lot of places to help people pick where to stay. Hotels that give the AI clear information, like what they offer, how they help the planet, and what kind of food they have, often get picked more in the AI&#8217;s suggestions for trips. Discovery Feature Traditional Local Search Generative AI Trip Planners Direct Booking Impact Primary Data Source Google Business Profile &#38; Website Metadata Multi-source Web Scraping, Structured Data &#38; Third-party Reviews High intent driven by validated property facts User Query Type Short-tail keywords (e.g., Resorts in Langkawi) Natural language prompts (e.g., Family resort in Langkawi with quiet beaches) Targeted conversions with lower bounce rates Visibility Format Map Packs, Search Snippets &#38; Ads Conversational Summaries &#38; Curated Recommendations Highly trusted peer-style recommendations Key Optimization Local citations, geotagging, review frequency Entity markup, clean JSON-LD, authoritative mentions Reduces dependence on high-commission OTAs Optimizing Property Assets for AI and Direct Conversions Winning direct bookings means you need to make it easy for people to book after they find your hotel. If an AI trip planner tells someone about a resort, or if a search result brings a traveler to a hotel&#8217;s website, the step to booking should feel smooth. There should be no issues in the booking process. Hotels do this by putting real-time booking tools right on their landing pages. They also give best-rate assurances and special direct booking deals, like free breakfast or late check-out. Plus, with schema structured data (including Hotel, Room, and Offer schema), Google and AI can quickly pull up available prices, room types, and features. This helps make sure there is no mix-up. Navigating the Future of Hospitality Search As conversational AI tools keep changing the way people look for and book trips around the world, Malaysian hotel brands should not stick to old ways of marketing. It is good to use a strong search plan, add clear data, and have a strong local name to bring in more direct guests. When hotels use up-to-date digital marketing methods and get help from digital growth experts at rankpage.com.my, they can increase their digital strength, get more direct bookings, and not have to depend so much on third-party booking sites.</p>

<p>London Curates a Hong Kong Art Trail The Hari Hong Kong has launched a cultural immersion experience that guides guests through the remarkable rota of art adorning its walls and Wan Chai neighbourhood’s exciting art scene. “The Hari Art Trail” is underpinned by a personalised art tour with the hotel’s in-house art ambassador, practicing artist Bibek Rai, who shares anecdotes behind the hotel’s eclectic art collection and contemporary design. Spanning a variety of mediums including installations, mixed media, surreal photographs, graphic paintings, three-dimensional images and digital film pieces, the art is curated by London-based art advisory A Space For Art, which also selects works for sister hotel The Hari London. Following Bibek’s art tour, guests are encouraged to continue the art trail by visiting two of Wan Chai’s hidden gems; 1960s tenement block turned creative hub Foo Tak Building and appointment-only gallery PHD Group. An Umbrella Village in the Sky In a salute to Chiang Mai’s Bo Sang Umbrella Village, Meliá Chiang Mai’s signature restaurant Mai Restaurant and Bar and executive The Level Lounge make for a visual marvel. Guests enter the 21st floor under an arch that pays homage to a nearby temple, to be greeted by large lit installations of umbrella ribs clinging to the ceiling and various artworks of umbrella canopies hung on the walls, such as those made from antique Chiang Mai textiles and bamboo frames. Concentric patterns in the likes of gun metal gray, periwinkle and soft amber hues reference umbrella tops in a striking yet subdued way. 250 Oil Paintings Detail Life in Vietnam Opening doors on Vietnam’s rich culture, talented Vietnamese artists were commissioned by The Anam Mui Ne, which opened in January 2023, to create 250 unique oil paintings for each room and suite, as well as the lobby and hallways. The artists include painters Bui Van Quang, who is renowned for his paintings portraying daily Vietnamese life, and Vu Trong Anh, who’s won acclaim for his modern, abstract interpretations of Vietnamese scenery. Pottery art, such as clay vases and statues, made by the Cham people has been included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding. The Giant Swing and Kites Galore Remarkable artwork throughout INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit takes guests on an abstract journey across Bangkok by referencing some of the city’s famed attractions. Beside the hotel’s jewel in the crown, an awe-inspiring infinity pool on the 34th floor, a compelling contemporary interpretation of Bangkok’s Brahman structure The Giant Swing makes for a dramatic photo backdrop. LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar’s striking angled lines and cabling pay tribute to Rama VIII Bridge. The Kites Eatery’s walls are adorned with kites, depicting the popularity of kite flying at state park Sanam Luang. In addition to striking black and white photography of Bangkok hung on the hotel’s walls, other artistic endeavours include a stairwell between the 31st and 32nd floors that makes for an optical illusion. The Open Living Lounge’s design takes cues from Wat Phra Kaew, with, for example, a golden counter inspired by the temple’s traditional Thai decorations gilded in gold leaf. Delve Deeply in a Gallery for Wellness TIA Wellness Resort has painted a new image of a well-rounded, wellbeing approach with the launch of its new art gallery space in May. Building on the tool of creativity as a way to calm the mind and regulate emotions, the new gallery sits alongside TIA’s Creative Space, where daily creativity workshops are hosted. The new gallery space features 32 images. Ten photographs were created by Jeff Courdrec, a French artisan photographer who used an analogue technique for this exclusive collaboration with TIA that delves deeply into its overall wellness philosophy. The abstract art on display reflects the resort’s Zen Splash concept, which is about inspiration, boldness, and creation. These ink images were created by a Hoi An-based calligrapher, Nguyễn Xuân Sinh. 700 Pieces of Art in a Single Setting Palace Hotel Tokyo, a Forbes Five-Star property overlooking the Imperial Palace gardens, features such a vast art collection that the local gallery that helped install it offers a special tour for guests to introduce some highlights. The more than 700 artworks on display draw inspiration from the hotel’s unique setting, which faces, in one direction, the city’s rich past, with the historic palace grounds. In the other direction, it points toward the future and the vibrant business district of Marunouchi. Many artists who created works here are globally renowned and highly sought after by collectors. The Palace Hotel Tokyo art tour, led by Art Front Gallery, explores major works both in the public areas of the hotel, including the reception lobby, as well as in guest rooms and restaurants, delving into subject, technique, symbolism and more. Did 13 Emperors Run Out of Luck? In Vietnam’s former imperial capital, the 122-room Azerai La Residence, Hue is home to an art gallery featuring portraits of all 13 emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty, which ruled Hue from 1802 to 1945. The gallery is believed to be the only place in all of Vietnam where images of all 13 leaders can be viewed in a single location. Hue is steeped in history, and Azerai La Residence, Hue is located just across the Perfume River from many of the area’s most popular historic attractions, including the Citadel and the city’s iconic flagpole. Apsara in Another Medium Two of Cambodia’s most iconic luxury heritage hotels – Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh and Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap – regularly showcase the works of leading Khmer contemporary artists. Raffles Hotel Le Royal recently presented “Sacred Dancers” at the hotel’s Restaurant Le Royal featuring DinArt, one of Cambodia’s most important abstract painters, and Ramya Chuon, who draws inspiration from the country’s legendary Apsara dancers. Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor likewise launched a new on-property art series earlier this year featuring a celebrated Khmer painter. The works were displayed in the hotel’s elegant public areas and restaurants. Both exhibitions included partnerships with top local galleries. Bring...</p>

The Open Living Lounge’s design takes cues from Wat Phra Kaew, with, for example, a golden counter inspired by the temple’s traditional Thai decorations gilded in gold leaf.</p>

<p>Five dynamic destinations across Japan offer unprecedented access to the nation’s hidden natural beauty and deep cultural heritage. Marriott International, Inc. and Japan’s leading lodging company Mori Trust Group announced the upcoming opening of five Marriott Hotels resorts across Japan this summer. Located in Japan’s most scenic destinations, the resorts give access to areas of the country that are known to few international travelers. From the picturesque lake area at the base of Mount Fuji to the Shuzenzi hot springs resort town situated in the Izu Peninsula, the resorts collectively offer more than 800 rooms and showcase exciting new destinations to a new generation of globetrotters. “We are thrilled to be working alongside Mori Trust in growing Marriott Hotels’ footprint in Japan,” said Mike Fulkerson, Vice President, Brand Marketing, Asia Pacific at Marriott International. “These five dynamic resorts are going to expand the mind and spark new ways of thinking about Japan as a travel destination. The properties will let guests venture beyond the well-trodden metropolises and tourist hubs without compromising on modern comforts and access to technology.” “In an era of discovery and adventure, these resorts speak to the new generation of travelers looking for a unique experience. We encourage our guests to relax and rejuvenate by providing aesthetically pleasing spaces that help them make the most out of their visit,” said Matthew Carroll, Vice President, Marriott Hotels. “Marriott Hotels has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation in travel to inspire and foster our guests’ creativity.” Located in Nagano, less than two hours by train away from central Tokyo, Karuizawa is where city-dwellers find refuge in eco-tours, healing hot springs and local cuisine. Karuizawa Marriott Hotel will feature 136 modern-designed rooms with a distinctive Japanese sensibility. The Grill &#38; Dining G restaurant, dynamic fitness center, onsen and spa will further bring out the distinctive cultural influences of this mountain retreat. Guests can relax while taking in the picturesque white sandy beaches and mountain trails when visiting the Nanki Shirahama Marriott Hotel. Set against rugged scenery and beaches from which to admire memorable sunsets, the hotel will feature 182 stylish rooms as well as two restaurants that serve the freshest seafood. A ballroom and versatile meeting facilities enable innovative and creative event set ups while proximity to nature and onsite hot springs, an outdoor pool and scenic gardens allow guests the ability to mix work and play while still enjoying the convenience of technology. Located at the largest of the five lakes at the base of Mount Fuji, the Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka will unveil stunning vistas of the iconic national landmark. The hotel will serve as a prime spot for visiting shrines and dynamic natural attractions, meanwhile the 105 tranquil guestrooms, on-site restaurant, hot springs, a fitness center and spa plus tennis courts provide thoughtful activities for guests to experience. Located West of Tokyo along the Pacific coastline, Shuzenzi is a hot springs resort town nestled in the densely wooded hills of the Izu Peninsula – an area dotted with ancient temples and bamboo groves. It’s now also home to Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenzi, a 128-room hotel with interiors adorned with modern décor influenced with authentic touches. The restaurant will serve regional Japanese cuisine and international favorites, meanwhile the Grand Ballroom is ideal for celebrating special events. The resort will also feature diverse wellness options including a stone sauna, a fitness center and spa, as well as famed hot springs, golf courses and tennis courts nearby. In Western Japan, just a stone throw’s away from Kyoto, is Lake Biwa Marriott Hotel. Situated along the banks of Japan’s largest lake, the hotel offers 274 rooms with breathtaking views, natural hot springs and is poised to become a wellness destination for local and international travelers. Guests will experience the region’s celebrated local cuisine in the hotel’s restaurant, stroll along the streets to witness the mix of traditional and western style architecture, and plan a celebration at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom or in the hotel’s private chapel. In addition to accessing authentic cultural experiences and modern innovations, digital-savvy solutions have been integrated to meet the needs of always-connected travelers. Mori Trust has linked all five distinctive Marriott hotels in Japan onto their digital platform www.JapaTabi.com “In order to promote these uniquely scenic locations featuring our country’s traditions, regional cuisines and modern art and design, we have created JapaTabi.com, an inventive online platform to share these destinations,” announced Miwako Date, President, Mori Trust Group. “Vivid video footage and beautifully navigable content will guide travelers to uncover the gems Japan has to offer, with Marriott Hotels as their host.” The multi-lingual website by Mori Trust is one more inventive tool that provides guests with thoughtful concierge recommendations on all five resort destinations. In partnership with Mori Trust, these five resorts located in thoughtful and surprising areas will give travelers unprecedented access and insight into Japan’s natural beauty, culture and history, matched with the modern comforts and stylish designs that are at the core of Marriott Hotels brand.</p>
