Cleanliness, comfort, facilities and convenience of services provided. Laluna Hotel and Resort had this all. Laluna Hotel and Resort immediately gave me the impression of space; in fact, everything is quite big there: the parking, the lobby, the rooms, the restaurant, and it all points to grandiosity and to times past. The bell-boys greeted us and quickly grabbed our bags while the front office staff allocated us a room and handed us the key, together with the wi-fi password and the breakfast coupons. Our appointed bungalow was near a splendid lagoon-shaped swimming pool with several sun beds on its decking, and it was partly concealed by a magnificent lush garden, for that touch of extra privacy. The garden at Laluna Hotel and Resort is so dense it feels more like the edge of a forest instead of the edge of a town. Inside, the room was large and so was the bathroom, all perfectly clean and well-presented. The TV had a great choice of channels, and coffee and tea facilities were ready on the desk. During my stay at Laluna Hotel and Resort I was happy with the room service and with the helpful front desk. You are left to your own as much as possible, unless you do need something, in which case the friendly staff is always at hand to help and attend your needs. The hotel is not so far from the city centre and the clock tower area, which is only a 20 minutes stroll away, and there are great nearby facilities like a 7-Eleven convenient store across the street, a laundry, a massage shop and a few bars and restaurants, in case you do not feel like walking too far. The morning after we were welcomed by a buffet breakfast that included a large assortment of Western and Asian choices, served in the adjacent building. Overall, I was extremely satisfied by my two-day stay, and would recommend Laluna Hotel and Resort to anyone wishing to spend a few days (or even weeks) in this great Northern Thailand town. Nestled at the edge of sprawling rice paddies minutes from the heart of Ubud, Lodtunduh Sari Villas has been crafted by a local architect, hence featuring all the traditional Balinese style you would expect: bungalows in ironwood, stone and glass, openness to nature, including the special touch of alang-alang roofs, along with a well-manicured lush gardens. The lovely saltwater pool sits right by the rice fields, which make the perfect frame for this private villas compound. Villas feature lovely open-air bathrooms, private patios and gardens, ornate by fish ponds and discreet boundary walls for the utmost privacy, while the amazingly friendly staff in the common area delight guests with the traditional Balinese hospitality as well as with the á la carte restaurant offering delicious Balinese and International dishes. But the real highlight of Lodtunduh Sari Villas for me was the atmosphere, and the peace and tranquility of the fabulous location, a real sanctuary of relaxation where I felt miles and miles away from the hustle of central Ubud, yet I was so near all the facilities and the Bali Spirit Festival venues. There was absolutely no noise both in the day and in the night, and the entire place was unbelievably quiet; I felt I was in the most serene spot in Ubud. The rice paddies are as genuine as they can get, and you get a real Ubud feeling by strolling down the fields in complete solitude. All villas are air conditioned and boast free high speed wi-fi Internet connection. I found private parking to be a plus that I thanked each time I returned late at night after the festival concerts at Armas in Ubud. Highly recommended stay!

If location is a must for you, then this hotel is ideal: strategically located at walking distance from shopping and business district, banks, clothes boutiques, handicrafts, cafes and a great choice of restaurants, Pandan Boutique Hotel is also within walking distance from the Independence Monument, 5 minutes drive to the Royal Palace and 10 minutes drive to the Tonle Sap riverside. Pandan Boutique Hotel offers a choice of 26 large rooms with a unique and classy design. I accommodated myself in mine, that was spacious and elegant, with a wooden parquet floor and classy hardwood furnishings all round. The double bed was firm and comfortable, with a soft duvet and pillows. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, fittings are modern, and there is a nice range of fragrant, natural bath products. I spotted immediately the large safe and the water boiler complete with a few sets of instant coffee and teas. But it is the staff the real bonus of Pandan Boutique Hotel. Khun Vimol at the front desk was simply helpful, and with her husband manage the establishment. The rest of the team is active and attentive to your needs can help you book a tour, chose a restaurant and can get you a tuktuk at the right price. The room cleaners were really thorough and even tidied up my clothes and stuff. Everybody will go the extra mile to ensure your comfort and ease and are always on hand to meet your needs. Breakfast is included in the room price. There was a good choice of breakfast items in the menu: in-season fruit platter, bread and delicious jams, eggs cooked in a variety of ways and fried rice, together with tea, coffee or fruit juices. The restaurant also offers a lunch and dinner menu, served in the quiet and pleasantly landscaped garden of Pandan Boutique Hotel, complete with lots of orchids. There is no pool but apparently you can use the pool in Goldiana across the road for $5. The team offer daily cleaning, laundry, dry cleaning and pressing service. I loved my stay at Pandan Boutique Hotel, which mostly met my requirements: you can tell from the air of simplicity that nothing is pretentious and that the place still retains an old charm. My sleeps were long and undisturbed. What more could you want to have from a hotel?
