This festival will take place Thursday, June 5<sup>th<\/sup> to Sunday, June 7<sup>th<\/sup> , 2015<\/p>\n<p><b>About the Program<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As part of the <i>Acts of Memory <\/i>program commemorating the 40<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the fall of Phnom Penh to the Khmer Rouge, Cambodian Living Arts will host Jolana Jongjam (Movement Memory), a series of contemporary dance workshops and performances.<\/p>\n<p><i>Acts of Memory<\/i> is co-produced by Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center &amp; Cambodian Living Arts and presented by Season of Cambodia. The Acts<i> of Memory<\/i> program is a series of events and activities that offer audience members opportunities for critical reflections on memory, history and identity.<\/p>\n<p><i>Jolana Jongjam<\/i> will serve as a platform for the public presentation of new works by dance companies Epic Arts, New Cambodian Artists and the PanDance Project, intended to encourage a young (Khmer) audience to examine and engage with the arts and their history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is very exciting for young Cambodians to see new works performed by young people representing different parts of Cambodia. Not only will they have a chance to see the performances, the audience members will also get to interact with the artists, ask them questions, give comments and reflect on the past &amp; future\u201d said Mr. Prim Phloeun, the Executive Director of Cambodian Living Arts.<\/p>\n<p>Through a series of master classes, workshops and exchanges between the dance companies, <i>Jolana Jongjam<\/i> is also designed to foster collaboration and innovation among the contemporary dance community, and broader arts community. These workshops are being implemented with co-funding from the European Union action, \u2018Supporting culture as a vector of democracy and economic growth\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><b>Program Schedule and Ticket Information<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Jolana Jongjam<\/i> will take place across three days: Friday, June 5th to Sunday, June 7th.\u00a0 Friday to Sunday nights will serve to showcase the three original pieces Epic Arts, New Cambodian Artists and the PanDance Project have created to reflect human emotions in the last 50 years of Cambodia\u2019s history. Performances will be at CLA\u2019s Plae Pakaa theatre at the National Museum of Phnom Penh.<\/p>\n<p>The Performance Schedule is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Friday, June 5<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 7 pm: Presentations of Epic Arts\u2019 piece, <i>Come Back Brighter<\/i>, and the PanDance Project\u2019s piece, <i>The Things They Carried<\/i>, followed by a post-show discussion with the artists, facilitated by Amrita Performing Arts. (1 hour duration)<\/li>\n<li>Saturday, June 6<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 7 pm: Presentation of New Cambodian Artists\u2019 piece, <i>Sronoh (Lament)<\/i>, followed by a post-show discussion with the artists, facilitated by Amrita Performing Arts. (1 hour duration)<\/li>\n<li>Sunday, June 7<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 (7 pm): All dance shows will be presented once more. Tickets are available at Cambodian Living Arts office and Bophana Audiovisual Resource Center. Tickets are priced at 10,000 R for public with 50% discount for students. Audience can also purchase tickets at door on each day of the performances.<\/p>\n<p>During the day from Friday to Sunday, Amrita Performing Arts will facilitate a series of <i>choreo-labs<\/i>.
