I recently had the pleasure of staying at Zenmaya Phuket in Thailand with my 7-year-old son, Leonardo, and we couldn’t have asked for a more kid-friendly and enjoyable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the resort’s thoughtful attention to families, especially those traveling with young children.

One of the highlights of our stay was the variety of activities available for kids. Leonardo had an absolute blast at the resort’s popular pool foam parties – a fun and lively event that added a unique touch to our vacation. It’s an excellent way for kids to have a great time, and we loved seeing him interact with other young guests in such a festive atmosphere.

The resort’s beach was another fantastic feature. With clear waters and abundant marine life, it’s a perfect spot for snorkeling. Leonardo was fascinated by the colorful fish, and I felt confident knowing the beach area was safe and easily accessible. It’s the ideal setting for a relaxing yet exciting day by the sea.

We were also thoroughly impressed by the lovely staff at Zenmaya Phuket. The team went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, especially when it came to entertaining and looking after Leonardo. They were always happy to engage with him, whether it was during the pool foam party or simply offering friendly greetings throughout the day. Their warmth and attention to detail truly made a difference in making us feel at home.

Our room was another highlight of the stay. Generously sized with modern amenities, it provided us with all the comfort we needed. The icing on the cake was the private access to an infinity pool, where we could enjoy a peaceful swim while taking in unobstructed views over Patong Bay. It was a perfect retreat after a day of fun-filled activities.

When it came to dining, Zenmaya Phuket certainly didn’t disappoint. The on-site restaurant offered a great variety of dishes, and the food was consistently delicious. Whether it was local Thai delicacies or international favorites, we were always satisfied. However, the breakfast buffet was the true standout! The feast of fresh fruit, pastries, hot dishes, and made-to-order stations made for an indulgent start to each day. It’s clear that they prioritize quality and variety to cater to both adults and children.

In summary, Zenmaya Phuket exceeded all expectations for a family vacation. With kid-friendly amenities, a fantastic pool scene, amazing beach access for snorkeling, a generous room with an infinity pool and unobstructed views over Patong Bay, and a top-notch dining experience, this resort is the perfect place for families to unwind and create lasting memories.

Zenmaya Oceanfront Phuket, Trademark Collection by Wyndham is proud to announce the completion of the first phase of its solar panel installation, which will meet around 30% of its power needs immediately.

The project involves the installation of 188 high-efficiency solar modules with a power output capacity of up to 120 kWp. By harnessing solar energy, Zenmaya Oceanfront Phuket expects to make substantial savings alongside its significant reduction in carbon emissions.

Phase one of the installation was completed in September, and the second and final phase is set for completion within the last quarter of 2024—just in time for the high season. This will further advance the resort’s renewable energy capabilities, reducing reliance on non-renewable sources.

“Investing in solar energy has proven to be a smart, sustainable choice, not only for long-term cost savings but also for advancing our environmental goals. We’ve always championed solar power, and this is just the beginning,” said Dominic Egger, Director of Operations Thailand, Travel + Leisure Co.

Most know that Phuket is known for its extravagant nightlife, and that Patong is its undisputed capital. As the sun sets over the beautiful bay and the first star appears on the horizon, the lively beach-town undergoes a transformation. Shadows lengthen on the darkening beach, and people gradually leave behind their beach activities as well as their idle mood. They all return to their bases to get ready, some for the evening, and some for the night. Jet skis are removed from the sea, and all around the evening lights begin to shine, the music systems crank up the volume, and the symbol of Thailand’s most famous island becomes the natural backdrop for a nightlife that every partygoer would wish never to end.

Described this way, it may seem like Patong is nothing more than a continuous nocturnal orgy of lights and sounds, where finding a peaceful corner could be challenging. Nevertheless, I can assure you this is not the case. In fact, there are plenty of ‘peaceful’ spots in the heart of Patong where you can find a quiet refuge and escape the nighttime chaos.

Right in the heart of Patong, on the road that runs alongside the beach, sufficiently tucked away but just a short walk from the chaos we just mentioned, you will find your comfortable and luxurious oasis of peace. It is a place that allows you to have a great night out but also offers you the well-deserved rest when the time comes.

We are talking about the Four Points by Sheraton: a brand owned by the American Marriott Bonvoy group which, with its 30 brands and over 8,000 properties in 139 countries, provides its clientele with a luxurious vacation experience, and needs no further introduction.

The Four Points by Sheraton is no exception to the group’s features. It is a high-quality 4-star hotel that combines a modern style with absolute comfort and a touch of luxury that is pleasing as it doesn’t indulge in unnecessary excesses.

As travel agents, we had the fortunate opportunity to have an interesting personal experience with a one-night stay at the hotel, enriched by a complete tour of all the services it offers. The impressions we brought back were indeed overwhelmingly positive.

First and foremost, the two fundamental conditions on which a hotel should be based for obtaining success, regardless of its classification, are totally respected here: professionalism and cleanliness.

The hotel is well-maintained, and being relatively new certainly helps. However, all the staff demonstrates efficiency and dynamism, especially during peak times, as we personally noticed. During our stay, the hotel was fully occupied in all its 600 rooms, and the feeling was that the staff managed every situation adequately, with minimal or no inconvenience to the guests.

Let’s now take a look at the hotel in detail:

Location:

As mentioned earlier, the location is excellent. Just cross the road and you will reach a relatively quiet side of Patong Beach. Only a few hundred meters separate the hotel from the area with a higher concentration of restaurants, nightlife venues, shops, and, on scheduled days, local markets. In short, you have the awareness of being in the center without feeling overwhelmed.

Rooms:

There are 600 elegantly furnished rooms with top-quality amenities, classified differently based on their features. All rooms are equipped with modern facilities to make your stay more comfortable: a 55-inch LED TV (two of them in the suites), an espresso machine, Wi-Fi, minibar, a safe and more.

The concept of ‘family suites’ is charming and unique. These are essentially regular suites consisting of two rooms. The main room has a double bed and is furnished like all the other hotel rooms, while the second room has kids’ beds and is decorated with walls painted with bright and colourful designs, along with kid-friendly decor.

A noteworthy feature is that the neighbouring noises of the town are completely eliminated by the room windows, ensuring guests a stress-free night’s rest. Due to a full house, the room we had requested was no longer available, so we were assigned a ‘One bedroom suite’. It was almost a pleasure to spend the time there during the few hours of rain that accompanied us.

Common Areas:

The lobby is spacious and, in addition to various sofas for waiting during check-in, you will find the lobby bar, serving drinks and pastries. It directly overlooks one of the three outdoor pools, the ‘Lagoon Pool’, located in the center of the property and extending to some pool direct access rooms called ‘pool access’. Three gazebos in front of a corner of an English lawn also invite for relaxation or for yoga sessions. The second pool, ‘The Deck Beach Club Pool’, is located on a terrace in front of the lobby, overlooking the sea and equipped with umbrellas and loungers. Each of these pools has its own pool bar. There’s also a ‘Kid’s pool’ for children.

Services:

The gym is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, and its use is complimentary. It is fully equipped with weightlifting and cardio machines. In addition to individual workouts, the gym offers Yoga, Circuit Training and Muay Thai classes, as well as personalised sessions with a private trainer. The latter two services come at an additional cost. Other services include meeting spaces, facilities and activities for children, laundry service, dry cleaning service, and room service until 2 AM.

Food and Beverage:

The hotel offers three restaurants and two bars. Among the restaurants, Chao Leh Kitchen and The Deck Beach Club Patong, the latter located on the terrace overlooking Patong Beach, serve international cuisine, while Sears & Co. Bar and Grill specialises in meat-based dishes. However, what deserves special mention is the Chao Leh Kitchen and their breakfast. To call it sensational is almost an understatement when it comes to both quantity and quality. Considering this is a 4-star resort, I have rarely seen such a rich, varied and well-managed buffet as the one at Chao Leh Kitchen. It includes Thai and Western breakfast options with a wide variety of bread and European pastries, Chinese-style Dim Sum, a variety of yogurts, fruits, and juices. Additionally, there are cold cuts, several types of cheese, cereals, and much more. It is a true feast of flavours and tastes that would leave no one indifferent. The organisation is excellent, with medium-sized trays frequently replenished, ensuring continuity while minimising waste.

Accessibility for People with Disabilities:

The main entrance is accessible to guests with disabilities. The property also has elevators and facilitates access for disabled guests to the pools, the Business Center, meeting spaces, and common areas in general. The hotel highlights an excellent value for money, and I am confident it will not disappoint its guests, just as it did not disappoint us.
