Urban lighting plays a critical role in how cities function after dark. Neon systems, LED displays, and illuminated architecture transform cityscapes into high-visibility environments optimized for commerce, navigation, and visual identity. Across Asia, several cities have developed highly distinctive nightscapes driven by dense signage, vertical development, and coordinated lighting systems. The following cities stand out for their technical approach to nighttime illumination and visual impact. Tokyo, Japan: Layered Neon Density and Zoning Tokyo’s nightscape is defined by layered lighting systems across districts such as Shinjuku and Shibuya. Buildings integrate signage directly into their facades, creating vertical stacks of illuminated panels. The density of signage is controlled through zoning regulations that allow high-intensity commercial lighting in specific districts. This results in concentrated visual zones rather than uniform distribution. Technical features include: High-luminance LED and neon hybrid signage Multi-story display integration on building exteriors Coordinated color schemes within commercial clusters Tokyo’s lighting system prioritizes visibility and brand differentiation within compact urban spaces. Hong Kong: Vertical Illumination and Skyline Integration Hong Kong’s skyline combines architectural lighting with neon signage. The city’s high-rise density allows lighting systems to extend vertically across large surface areas. Victoria Harbour provides a reflective surface that enhances visual output. The “Symphony of Lights” system coordinates building illumination, creating synchronized displays across multiple structures. Key characteristics include: Integration of facade lighting with structural design Use of reflective water surfaces to amplify brightness Centralized control systems for coordinated displays Hong Kong’s approach merges commercial signage with large-scale architectural lighting. Seoul, South Korea: Digital Signage and Mixed Lighting Systems Seoul combines traditional neon with modern digital displays. Districts such as Gangnam and Myeongdong feature high-resolution LED panels alongside conventional signage. The city emphasizes adaptability. Digital systems allow content to change dynamically, supporting advertising and event-based visuals. Technical elements include: High-definition LED screens with programmable content Mixed-use lighting combining static and dynamic elements Energy-efficient systems to manage large-scale illumination Seoul’s nightscape reflects a transition from static neon to programmable digital environments. Bangkok, Thailand: Street-Level Neon Concentration Bangkok’s neon lighting is concentrated at street level, particularly in areas such as Sukhumvit and Chinatown. Unlike cities with vertical emphasis, Bangkok focuses on horizontal distribution. Signage is often placed closer to pedestrian pathways, increasing visibility and interaction. This creates a more immersive experience at ground level. Features include: Dense clustering of signage along streets Lower mounting heights for direct visibility High contrast color usage to stand out in busy environments Bangkok’s lighting design prioritizes immediate visual engagement. Shanghai, China: Large-Scale LED and Architectural Lighting Shanghai’s nightscape is defined by large-scale LED installations and architectural illumination. The Bund and Lujiazui districts showcase coordinated lighting across entire building facades. Unlike traditional neon-heavy cities, Shanghai relies more on LED systems for scalability and control. These systems allow synchronized color changes and animations. Technical aspects include: Full-building LED facade coverage Programmable lighting sequences Integration with skyline design for cohesive visuals Shanghai demonstrates how modern lighting technology can replace traditional neon while maintaining visual impact. Taipei, Taiwan: Hybrid Neon and LED Environments Taipei maintains a balance between traditional neon signage and newer LED systems. Night markets and commercial districts feature dense clusters of illuminated signs. The coexistence of old and new technologies creates varied visual textures. Neon provides continuous glow, while LEDs introduce sharper, more defined visuals. Key elements include: Combination of analog neon and digital displays High-density signage in compact areas Strong emphasis on commercial visibility Taipei’s approach preserves legacy lighting while incorporating modern systems. Manila, Philippines: Emerging Neon and LED Integration Manila is developing its nightscape through increased use of LED and neon signage in commercial districts. Growth is driven by retail expansion and urban development. Lighting systems are becoming more structured, with improved consistency and brightness control. Characteristics include: Expanding use of illuminated signage in business areas Transition toward energy-efficient lighting systems Gradual standardization of visual layouts Manila represents an evolving lighting environment with increasing technical sophistication. Asian cities demonstrate diverse approaches to nighttime lighting, ranging from dense neon clusters to large-scale LED systems. Each city’s design reflects its urban structure, technological adoption, and commercial priorities. By combining traditional neon elements with modern lighting technologies, these environments create visually complex and highly functional nightscapes.

AHG continues its journey promoting mindful travelling where cultural, social and environmental impact meet. From designing hotels to curating guests’ experiences, AHG embraces “art, culture, and emotional wisdom” by celebrating the beauty of traditions, the heritage of the locations and the people of the communities. This unique philosophy manifests into its Asian-rooted lifestyle pillars — 衣食住 行乐, re-imagined from the Chinese idiom “clothing” (art and design), “food” (culture and gastronomy), “housing” (habitat and community), “walking” (discovery and exploration), and “music” (joyful experience). This concept is notably reflected in its “Tale of Two Cities” with its flagship luxury lifestyle hotel openings of Artyzen Singapore and Artyzen NEW BUND 31 Shanghai. Artyzen Singapore – A Vertical Oasis in the Heart of Singapore (Opening Q4 2023) Inspired by Singapore’s culture, colours, and flavours, Artyzen Singapore is a modern lifestyle hotel for luxury travellers. Located in the heart of the city, Artyzen Singapore offers 142 spacious rooms & suites – all with balconies, ceiling fans, and luxurious baths. Embracing this unique heritage, Artyzen Hospitality Group worked in partnership with renowned architect ONG&ONG Pte Ltd and award-winning interior design studio Nic Graham & Assoc. to transform this luxury property into a lush vertical oasis. For food aficionados, the Artyzen Singapore offers a fresh reinterpretation of cuisines favoured and flavoured by the people of the Straits. Quenino by Victor Liong – Quenino (pronounced as /ˈke-ni-nu/) means little one in Malaccan Creole Portuguese and was co-created with Hatted Chef Victor Liong, an Australian with Malaysian Chinese heritage.
Since its opening five years ago, Shanghai’s most pioneering resort, Amanyangyun has demonstrated how – through a culmination of an ambitious feat of architectural and ecological conservation – Chinese culture can be preserved and still enjoyed today. Set on the edge of the city and breathing new life into history, the property has served as a sanctuary in which to celebrate the country’s heritage but also a place to find balance between the modern-day allure of Shanghai and the peace of the natural world. To mark its five-year milestone, a series of new events themed around the five senses will take place throughout the coming months. At the beginning of the 21st century, the construction of Liao Fang Reservoir in Jiangxi Province proposed significant risk to the area’s ancient Ming and Qing Dynasty houses and the surrounding camphor tree forest. In a bid to preserve nature and this significant piece of cultural heritage, a migration project began, transporting the historic courtyard and the trees 700-kilometres to the outskirts of downtown Shanghai. After over a decade of careful relocation and restoration, on 28 April 2018, the grand opening of Amanyangyun marked their reemergence as the resort’s very own Ming and Qing Dynasty Villas. Set around a resplendent central lake and surrounded by forest gardens, Amanyangyun presented a rural refuge unlike anything ever seen before in the city. Taste of Aman: 16 – 18 June 2023 Not only is food one of the most popular ways to discover new cultures and satisfy the appetite, but it also serves as a catalyst for connection, bringing people together to make lasting memories. Aman has long recognised the importance of world cuisines, championing local produce, ancient cookery techniques and the unique flavours of its destinations across the globe. Celebrating this integral part of the Amanyangyun experience, the resort will host several events, showcasing culinary cultures from around the world. Four Hands Dinner at Arva Having appeared in the Shanghai Michelin Guide since opening in 2018, Arva – Aman’s homage to Italian culinary tradition – draws inspiration from farm-to-table tradition with signature dishes and sharing plates served in a warm and convivial atmosphere. Coinciding with Arva at Amanyangyun’s five-year anniversary, Aman Tokyo’s executive chef, Masakazu Hiraki, will visit the resort from Japan to host a Four Hands Dinner in collaboration with Nicola Frizzale, the resort’s own executive chef. Born and raised in Japan, Hiraki attended the renowned Tsuji Culinary Institute before moving to Italy in 1999 to gain first-hand knowledge of the country’s cuisine. In 2016, after 17 years in Italy, he returned to Japan and joined the Arva team at Aman Tokyo. While demonstrating his knowledge of Italian cuisine, Hiraki also showcases his Japanese heritage through his culinary creations. Visiting the hotel from 16-18 June, Hiraki will work together with Frizzale, who joined Amanyangyun in 2021, to present a seven-course dinner – a journey through Italy’s culinary heritage. Served at Arva from 6-10pm, the menu will include delicious dishes and Italian favourites such as Carpaccio Di Gamberi and Risotto Al Funghi. Four Hands Afternoon Tea at the Bar Surrounded by lush camphor trees, Amanyangyun’s Bar is an elegant and relaxing space which has become renowned over the past five years for its exquisite afternoon tea serving visitors and locals alike.. To celebrate the resort’s anniversary, indulge in an exclusive afternoon tea experience – a collaboration between Aman Kyoto’s pastry chef Hiroyuki Matsuo and Amanyayngun pastry chef Norah Zhou. The chefs will create an afternoon tea that appeals to all the senses. A celebration of pattern, texture and colour, the experience will be available from 2-5pm on 16, 17 and 18 June, and include indulgent treats such as Brown Sugar Pancakes, Pistachio Raspberry Bavarian Cream Cake and Cranberry Scones. Chef Matsuo started his career as a confectioner in Osaka in 1984 and has won numerous awards for his original creations including the Osaka Governor’s Award. Working together with Norah – a member of the Gourmet Committee of the Chinese Cuisine Association and silver medal winner in the chocolate showcase of the 9th FHC China International Culinary Arts Competition. Healing Journey: 12 – 18 June 2023 Set around an impressive central courtyard, Amanyangyun’s 2,840 square-metre Aman Spa is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the Eastern Hemisphere. Marking its fifth birthday, Spa Treatment Manager, Mima Iveson, will visit Amanyangyun from Aman Tokyo, bringing with her, for the first time to China, a new Aman Essential Skincare treatment, informed by the wisdom of ancient wellness tradition. Combining products from the new Aman Essential Skin line with exfoliation and manual lifting techniques, the Aman Advanced Facial stimulates face muscles to improve the skin’s overall texture. The treatment begins with ultrasonic scrubbing to loosen and remove oil and debris from the pores. Supported by electric muscle stimulation and massage to firm, and cryo bulbs to eliminate puffiness, the complexion appears brighter and tighter. The treatment – exclusively available to guests from 12-18 June – continues with the application of a marine mineral mask to deeply hydrate, followed by Aman x 111Skin Nourishing Gold Algae hydrogel face and eye masks to achieve an exceptional glow. Tea Ceremony, Art Exhibition & Flavours of the World Dinner: 16 – 18 June 2023 Also taking place from 16-18 June, Amanyangyun invites cultural discovery with a traditional Tea Ceremony accompanied by performances by Kunqu Prince Jun Zhang and U-Theatre under the resort’s majestic King Tree. Those taking part will have the opportunity to tour the resort’s exclusive art exhibition, followed by a delicious Flavours of the World dinner at 8pm – a buffet of street food favourites prepared by visiting chefs from Amantaka, Laos, and Amansara, Cambodia and served under the stars – including dishes such as Traditional Amok Fish, Tom Cheo Stew and Beef Lok Lak. Throughout the summer season, two of Amanyangyun’s historic Antique Villas will be filled with works from Chinese artists such as Man Chen, Wei Huang, and Anxiong Qiu. The private exhibition will be accessible to those staying in the resort’s...

The House Collective stages a series of cross-culture collaborative artistic performances at the brand’s properties in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Chengdu. The House Collective by Swire Hotels, a group of refined, highly individual hotels in Asia, has launched the 2021 edition of its biennial art programme, ‘Encounters Across Cultures,’ which celebrates the immeasurable creativity that comes through multicultural collaboration. The House Collective–comprising The Opposite House in Beijing, The Upper House in Hong Kong, The Temple House in Chengdu, and The Middle House in Shanghai–has invited artists from around the world to come together to create and explore the concept of space and movement. Following over a year of restrictions and lockdowns, the desire to collaborate and create across cultures in a meaningful way was an inspiring force behind this programme. The 2021 edition, which has been almost two years in the making, celebrates that sense of togetherness across borders that we have all been so deeply craving. “Art and culture are actually a core part of who we are and what our Houses represent. We created Encounters Across Cultures because we think that an important element of creativity is access to points of view different from your own.” Clarissa Tam, art programme lead at The House Collective. An encounter between dance and architecture – 2021 edition The theme of this year’s programme will be realized through interactive video installations that– coupled with varying styles of dance movements–will complement the work of the esteemed architects behind each House. The installations will encourage viewers to appreciate the spaces they spend time in and even find new ways to experience them. Following last year’s unexpected lockdowns–and the heightened impact that space and architectural design has had on our emotions–these installations will bring to life a timely sentiment that breaks the barriers of languages and borders. “Through dance, this art programme explores how movements can be a captivating medium for perceiving, experiencing, and articulating architecture. It hopes to remind us to slow down and observe the details, to dive into our surroundings. To be present within the space. To look up.” – Patsy Lo, curator and producer of the art programme Spread across the four Houses, the series of installations will tell the story of art across cultures in two chapters – the first between Shanghai and Beijing and the second between Hong Kong and Chengdu. Hong Kong Serenity Meets Chengdu Contrasts – 23 September through 31 December The second chapter will take place at The Upper House in Hong Kong and then move to The Temple House in Chengdu. This chapter will seek to highlight the distinctly different architectural styles of The Upper House (which epitomises André Fu’s sense of understated luxury) and The Temple House (which blends Qing dynasty structures with contemporary design) through the contrasting styles of ballet and hip hop. As a way to showcase the different energies and personalities between the two cities, Ballerina, Hennes Yuen from the Hong Kong Ballet and Hip-Hop dancer, Wan Siming from Chengdu will weave together their unique disciplines of dance. Directed by Leo Liu with choreographed movements by Yuh Egami (of the Hong Kong Ballet) and Andrea Carrucciu (who played MacBeth in the show Sleep No More), Ballerina Yuen leads the audience through the serene sanctuary above the city that is The Upper House – while hip- hop dancer Wan Siming channels the young creative energy of the city’s hip-hop culture through the contemporary design aesthetic of The Temple House. Through the video installation, the audience will experience the dancers embracing their differences and creating harmony with each other. “Each of The House Collective’s four properties are highly individualized in location and culture, and this year’s Art Programme celebrates these distinctive and authentic cities while also showcasing the universal connection they share to cities around the world through art,” Said Dean Winters, Managing Director for Swire Hotels.

Business opportunities in China are very diverse and lucrative, explaining why many multinational companies are flocking the Asian economic giant every year. But even as many as the opportunities could be, you need to understand how the nation’s economy operates and the various demographics that define the economy if you are to succeed in business here. Before you register your business in China, you need to understand the differences between the eastern, central, and western provinces. You also need to understand which cities have the wealthiest people and which once are developing at a faster rate than others. China’s economy is more of a collection of many small economies, each economy representing a specific region or a specific class of people. Most of China’s wealthiest cities and manufacturing industries are in the eastern provinces while central China boasts of the most agriculture-based ventures. The east coast, in particular, has the most thriving economy and wealthiest private citizens. The western cities aren’t as developed as the rest of China, although low-end manufacturing plants are gradually opening shops there. But, surprisingly, this is the region with the most natural wealth, meaning that it is just a matter of time before tourism and travel businesses start to boom. How to Pick the Right Business Location in China Your business stands a better chance to succeed if you get the perfect location for it. From the onset, it will help if you understand the economies of Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou– the major economic hubs in China. These cities are also home to most government entities and industrial centers. But you should not be blinded by the huge population and big economies in the cities, particularly if the nature of your business requires you to set shop in rural areas. If you have a small food business, for example, you might want to set it up in rural China as the competition in the city could be extremely fierce. If, on the other hand, you operate a tech or fashion company, you will have a better shot at success if it is located in Beijing or any other major city. Rural China isn’t very advanced in regards to technology. Another key consideration to make is your proximity to the coastline, especially if your business requires lots of importation or exportation. Your transportation and logistical needs should advise you on how deep into the inland you should go. You might also want to know how you will be getting goods to and from your location. Lastly, ensure that you understand the government inspections and restrictions that your business operations will be subjected to within your location of choice. Best Cities to Do Business in China 1. Beijing In terms of economic dynamism and competitiveness, Beijing tops all of the other major Chinese cities. The city’s economic and financial strength is in its post-modern infrastructure- The city’s transport and telecommunications sectors are among the best in the world. On the other hand, local authorities in Beijing have made sufficient and genuine efforts towards making the city’s business policies conducive for both local and international companies. Therefore, there are highly professional headhunter Chinese companies that help newly established businesses find and recruit skilled employees. 2. Guangzhou About 70% of Guangzhou’s economy is dominated by agriculture, manufacturing, and service industries. It is arguably among the top manufacturing and shipping hubs in China. Being the 3rd-largest city in the country with over 13 million dwellers, this city provides multinational companies with a huge and diverse market. It also borders Hong Kong and that makes the population of wealthy Chinese even higher. Guangzhou also welcomes millions of immigrants every year, which makes it one of the most culturally diverse cities world over. The immigrants provide multinational companies with both a ready market and a ready workforce. 3. Shanghai Shanghai is China’s biggest trading port, finance center, and industrial city. It actually is the most important economic hub in the Far East. Deep Water Port, Aviation Port, and Information Port are all found here. For air transport, Hongqiao and Pudong Airports make Shanghai very accessible from across the world. The city experiences the pleasant northern subtropical maritime monsoon climate Shanghai bigger part of the year- plenty of rain and abundant sunshine during the day. That makes it prime for agricultural activity. It also means plenty of raw materials for manufacturing firms. In conclusion Are you a company owner or manager trying to penetrate the Chinese market? If you are, don’t make the mistake of recruiting under-qualified personnel. There are professional employer organisations that will recruit the right staff for you at a very affordable charge. When you hire a recruitment agency, you are able to repurpose your energy and time to rolling out the core infrastructure of your company.

The Middle House in Shanghai – Swire Hotels’ latest addition to The House Collective group of hotels – continues the same story of intimate, personal luxury from the subterranean spa up to the top-floor Penthouse, which has now been unveiled as an exquisitely designed space to create a truly memorable stay, an event – or the unique combination of both. Occupying an impressive 660 square metres on the 14th floor, the Penthouse features an inviting living area perfect for entertaining guests, a master bedroom set away from a second smaller bedroom for added privacy, outdoor terraces overlooking the city, and an event space with an outdoor area and a 208 square metre indoor room that can be converted further into two smaller spaces for more intimate events. Our Penthouse is immaculately designed to create a truly memorable stay and event experience, best available rate from CNY120,000+ / USD 17,314+ per night. The price is subject to a 16.6% service charge and tax. Modern aesthetic with local cultural elements Piero Lissoni, renowned architect and founder of Lissoni Architettura in Milan who also designed The Middle House, continues with the same modernist aesthetic in the Penthouse with touches of both Italian and Chinese culture in its design and furnishings. The traditional Venetian terrazzo flooring in particular, was specially chosen to help amplify the spacious, classic elegance of the Penthouse, while a large hand painted dragon mural in natural tones pays homage to the strong symbol of local Chinese culture. Intimate luxury event space The attached private function area has the versatility to be split into two separate spaces, transforming the Penthouse from the quintessential home away from home into a sophisticated venue suited for events of all sizes – from intimate soirees to gala dinners or cocktail parties for up to 200 people hosted in style. For other special occasions, The Middle House also offers smaller event spaces ideal for groups of 6 to 20 guests such as the Gray room, and the Wine room at Café Gray Deluxe. The Italian restaurant, Frasca, can host 70 guests for a dinner on the outside terrace for some al fresco fun, while Sui Tang Shang, above the Chinese Restaurant, comfortably accommodates 80 guests for cocktail style events. About The Middle House Located in the bustling Jing’an District of Shanghai and the city’s trendy Nanjing West Road, The Middle House is the newest addition to Swire Hotels’ renowned The House Collective, offering 111 luxuriously designed guest rooms and 102 serviced residences for discerning world travellers. Enlisting Italian designer and architect Piero Lissoni to bring his signature mix of bold lines and clean silhouettes into every detail, The Middle House offers many unique features, including an expansive outdoor space with terraces that provide an elegant and calm oasis amidst the dynamic backdrop of one of Asia‘s most sophisticated cities.

Flagship Hotel marks the brand’s first in Shanghai and third in China, electrifying the Shanghai skyline with the debut of W Shanghai – The Bund. W Hotels Worldwide, part of Marriott International, today unveiled W Shanghai – The Bund, located in the heart of one of the world’s most energetic cities. With limitless views overlooking the Huangpu River, W Shanghai will set the scene on the North Bund. Owned by Sinar Mas Group, the hotel features a blend of bold design and decadent style which combines to create a captivating contrast of Shanghai’s past and its avant-garde present. This is one of ten hotels scheduled for China by 2019. “Shanghai is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, and its engaging nightlife, spirited fashion scene and passion for what’s new/next makes it an ideal destination for the W brand,” said Anthony Ingham, Global Brand Leader, W Hotels Worldwide. “Our hotels across the world are incredibly unique- each reinterpreting its destination through design that is both hyper-local and yet, clearly W. The electrifying design of W Shanghai – The Bund is no exception, solidifying its position as a global flagship for W that is sure to attract both guests and savvy locals alike.” Designed by the acclaimed G.A Design, the hotel showcases an exciting combination of historic and modern influences, such as Hai Pai – the art of combining the old and the new, East and West. This is evident in both the hotel’s location, perfectly positioned between the Suzhou Creek and the Huangpu River, as well as the surrounding locale, where Art Deco buildings sit alongside opulent Chinese mansions. W Shanghai – The Bund draws upon colonial glamour and futuristic motifs, with nearly all guestrooms featuring views of the Huangpu River due to the uniquely curved frame of the building’s edifice. “Over the past few years we have seen incredible growth worldwide across our brands, with the China market becoming increasingly important for Marriott International,” said Stephen Ho, Chief Executive Officer, Greater China, Marriott International. “The opening of the W Shanghai – The Bund underscores the ambitious expansion of Marriott International’s Luxury Brands in Greater China.” An Electric Welcome Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by neon light installations throughout the hotel’s Living Room (the W brand’s take on the staid hotel lobby). For centuries, Shanghai-locals have honored the Lilong tradition, in which wet laundry is hung on lines to dry at varying heights down narrow laneways. When mixed with the neon signs of businesses on the lane, it results in a site of beautiful chaos for those who look up while walking underneath. This installation was designed as a modern reinterpretation of this classic scene. The Welcome Desk (reception area) features a kaleidoscopic fixture, mirroring the constant flow of guests through the area. The ‘Melting Qipao’ pattern, a representation of Shanghai as a melting pot of cultures, can be seen on the walls of the WC (restroom). W Shanghai – The Bund features 374 stylish guestrooms and suites, each appointed with the signature W bed adorned with a cheeky pillow in the shape of Shanghai’s famous Xiaolongbao (soup) dumpling and chopsticks. Thirty-five of the rooms are suites, including the Cloud on the Bund, which includes highlights such as a LED wall and a hanging bed. The duplex Extreme WOW Suite (the brand’s take on the presidential suite) boasts more than 4,000 square feet of living space, along with a hanging neon installation in the shape of lips blowing out dragon smoke. In addition to the epic views of the Huangpu River and iconic Pudong skyline, all rooms also feature switchable privacy glass and Nespresso Coffee machines. Rise and Dine W Shanghai – The Bund offers five intriguing places to socialize and dine. The Kitchen Table, with its interactive open kitchen, is inspired by a modern New York bistro and celebrates the legacy of Shanghai’s flourishing trade. YEN showcases the next evolution of Cantonese dining where traditional dishes are reinterpreted. Pre-dinner cocktails at LIQUID AT YEN, a hidden speakeasy, is the perfect evening prelude to transport guests to the glamorous golden years of Shanghai’s 1920s cocktail scene featuring a handcrafted selection of concoctions mastered by the on-site “Cocktail Professor”. The playfully elegant WOOBAR transforms from a daytime lounge into a vibrant evening cocktail bar. And finally, WET (the hotel’s pool) and WET BAR offer incredible sweeping views of the electric Shanghai skyline. “We are infusing so much energy into this city with W Shanghai – The Bund,” said Christian Humbert, General Manager, W Shanghai – The Bund. “We are bringing guests closer to the music, design, fashion and Fuel (the brand’s take on fitness) scenes in Shanghai while providing our signature Whatever/Whenever service, delivering whatever guests want, whenever they want it, in this incredible city.” Amped Up Meetings + Innovative Spa Treatments Mixing work with play, guests will be captivated by nearly 6,000 square meters of meeting and events space. At more than 2,000 square meters, the Great Room is the largest hotel event space in Western Shanghai, and boasts 6.2-meter ceilings in a setting inspired by an opulent expression of the Golden Age. The entrance to the Great Room features a series of oversized mirror collages with a Qipao motif, overlaid by a delicate Art Deco-inspired screen, reflecting the tension and contrasts between old and new Shanghai. The 660-square-meter Mega Room, in addition to the Studios and Strategy spaces, all cleverly adapt their industrial charm to perfectly suit each event. The AWAY Spa offers massages, body treatments, facials and quick fixes, all set to leave guests glowing. Guests can also step into the ultra-modern FIT gym that offers 24/7 access to the newest Technogym equipment, or take part in a yoga or tai chi class on the hotel’s wooden deck.
